A man who said his name was Geam, called asking about what services I provide (I'm a birth doula) He said he was calling for his wife Kathy. He said they just moved to the state, due date is Aug 20th and didn't yet have a care provider then started to ask questions about breastfeeding and circumcision. He kept repeating the same questions even after being answered and trying to get personal information such as if I had kids or another job.

Received a call from this number...A woman with an Indian (?) accent saying she just moved to my area and was looking for a birth doula....I did not think much about this as I am a professional, working birth doula with listings on multiple reference sites. She was asking personal questions related to birth, breastfeeding in public and circumciscion. I grew suspicious when she started asking questions about my children and my personal experiences that I did not feel comfortable discussing . When I asked multiple times to set up a meeting to discuss her needs in person, she became very noncommittal and tried to keep asking more personal questions. I finally told her we would need to schedule an appointment and she gave a very vague "call me tomorrow" and hung up.

I had a call from this number about 2:20 this afternoon. What sounded like a woman asked me about my doula services, what my fee was, and so on, and said they had just moved here and the baby was due in February. When I stated my fee the caller expressed surprise at the rate, saying it was so low compared to others. They proceeded to ask me if I knew of someone who would babysit their 3 year old son as he has to have circumcision surgery, then asked if I babysat. I said no, I have a regular job. "Oh, where do you work?" I said the type of place and they asked what I did there, I briefly explained.

I explained that I would be available to meet potential clients after my normal work hours or during the weekend. By that time the caller had identified himself as a man calling on behalf of his wife, and he wasked if needed to meet his wife alone or if he should come to. Thinking that he might be misunderstanding what a doula does, I said: "You know I don't deliver babies, correct?" He said yes, and I said I could meet with either the woman alone or with the two of them.

This was all still during my normal work hours so I was trying to cut it short; I wouldn't have answered in the first place but I thought it was our insurance company regarding a recent claim. When I explained I needed to go, the caller asked how late in the evening he could call. I stated a time and when he expressed dismay I offered between such and such a time as an alternative. On that note we ended the conversation. I was getting increasingly suspicious as the call went on, so when we hung up I Googled the number, and it lead me here. Very, very strange. Needless to say, the number is now on auto-reject.

I had the same experience as the first caller. Though he said he did want to set an appointment for next week but wanted me to call back to confirm time.

Suspicious call about doula services. Asked questions about our children and sexes.

Man calling with an Indian accent asking about circumcision of their 7 year old son because the neighbor said her boy was circumcised.  Asking for advice.  Person answering phone kept telling her to call her pediatrician and talk to them and she kept asking questions of the birth center nurse.  Nurse was way more patient than I would have been and talked to him for over 10 minutes.The phone call was at about 0350 in the am.  At the end of the conversation he asked her if she had any children and what their experience was. She told him she didn't have kids and had to go as we were a busy unit.
