This is a scam.  Please do not fall for it. This number has called me twice today and actually left a message the second time. I looked up the number and it appears to be a mobile phone in India. The man who left the message stated his name was Steve Martin (yeah, right) and that he was calling about an action executed by the U.S. Treasury (strange wording). Hopefully by now everyone knows that the government won't contact you in this way. He never stated my name, making it seem like a cold call, it may have even been a recording. He stated that failure to call this number back would result in a hearing before a magistrate judge (more strange wording) or grand jury for a criminal offense. This is wrong in so many ways. Obviously these scammers are not very knowledgable about the American legal system. To me this call is such a blatant scam that it is laughable, however I feel like I need to put a warning out there regarding this number and all similar scams that are attempting to confuse and scare people into giving out their personal info.

Received a call from Steve Martin at 805-744-7049. Since I live in a home with several unrelated persons I asked who he wanted to talk to which he couldn't answer.

We all know that ANY Fed entity would NOT leave a message on a voicemail, WOULD send a letter and COULD also identify the precise person who they wish to contact.

If this person calls back I will ask them their full name, Federal employee ID badge number, and the full address of their office.

    Not Fooled
This person with a strong foreign accent left a voice mail message pretty much repeating what Tired of Scammers said. At the end of the message, he told me to call the number so he could help me. Yeah, right!!! Help relieve me of credit card numbers, SSN, or whatever? Please don't fall for this garbage.

    Caller ID said Moorpark, CA.

    same guys
"Steve Martin" aka some obviously Indian guy, keeps calling from this number about an action. Quite a few scams like this one out there and they seem to be able to mask their phone numbers with other ones that appear to be local even though they are half a world away. Be careful guys, if they are legit you will get stuff in the mail. I would advise calling your local police too, it's becoming a very common crime.

I to just received a call from this#. of course He was thick accented and threatened me w/arrest, a lien was put against my house. etc. I'm still waiting and for "OFFICER JACK COOPER" from the IRS 2 arrest me (He called from a another #). I think I'm going 2 invest a bull whistle or whatever they are. They should put these guys away 4 a very longtime but, because the DNC list only covers certain criteria and these idiots use magic jack or whatever, It's impossible 2 catch them. I don't mean 2 keep running on but, most of us know the IRS will send snailmail or, an e-mail (which you probably better off not opening).
