- RR| 5 repliesScam debt collector posing as mediator to try to collect on phantom debt. I cannot find any information on this suppose company but with the little I have, I have reported them to the FTC and Consumer Financial Protection.
Here is my experience:
Received phone call from a woman named Jordan Barber. States she is a mediator with Retrieval Mediation and asked if I have been served with any documents yet. When I asked her what this was regarding, she stated that she was calling to "resolve" the issue without the need of court or garnishing my wages. I asked her if she was a debt collector and she lied and said she was a mediator. I asked her if I was being sued, where was the case filed. She then stated nothing was filed yet, she was trying to resolve the issue without the court. She became very rude and irritated. I asked her which company hired her or were the supposed plaintiffs? She said it was Alliance... a company I never heard off. She stated it was regarding a payday loan I took out in 2009. Again, since I've never heard about the company... I asked for verification of debt. The woman then became very hostile and told me that I received the money. I then told her that I will not speak to her without verification nor verify any information she has about me. She then told me that she has my SSN and my current home address. I said okay and she hung up on me. She then called me back to state my address and then hung up on me before I could respond. I tried to call back so I could again tell her not to contact me again but I was sent to a VM. I believe this is a one person show. This woman is obviously using scare tactics to try to collect money.- Caller: Retrieval Mediation

- Es| 16 repliesI have been receiving calls from 786-270-5910 from a Jordan Barber who said she was with Retrieval Mediation also told me I am being sued for a pay day loan in 2009. They sent me a supposed letter which was not signed, does not have a telephone number. She refuses to supply me with any information other than what I supposedly owe and becomes irritate and rude if I ask questions. Threatens me with going to court. The letter head as an address of 2367 business parkway, Valdosta, Ga 31601. There's also an email address of info.rmg@inbox.com. I googled the company name and got nothing back. I came across this thread of callers receiving the same calls by googling her name and company name. Who should I report this to?

- ES replies to RR| 2 repliesHello. I got the same call by the same woman. Do you have an update? Did she call you back? I want to report this also. Can you provide numbers? Thanks.
- Janet Trenzado replies to EsI have been receiving the same phone calls as all of you and they started around the same time as all of you July 2015. I also requested information from their client and they could not provide any information, i am going to be filing a police report in Miami Dade County because they claim to call from GA but the # is from Miami Dade County. The woman that called me is Ashley Herring she also told me and sent me a demand letter for a pay day advance loan of $825.00 which i NEVER got! What scares me is she has my information. I also asked for verification proof i signed for this so called pay day advance loan and she could not provide information. She continues to call harrassing me.
- janet trenzado replies to Es| 5 repliesthe lady that called me stated she is Ashley Herring, I am on the phone to report them to Consumer Protection Bureau 855-411-2372
- janet trenzado replies to janet trenzado| 4 repliesI have contact the State Attorney General for Florida and Georgia. I will also be filing a police report.
- ES replies to janet trenzado| 3 repliesI got an email from that Ashley Herring too with a supposed statement. The company listed was no where to be found online. The supposed lender was not even in business. They couldn't provide me with any info either. Nothing made sense. What does filing a police report due? It's frightening how much info they have.
- janet trenzado replies to ES| 2 repliesI filed the report with the attorney general and in my county a policy identity theft report to submit with all these complaints to my credit bureaus. Being pro-active. The lady continues to call me and the police advised me to block her.
The attorney general office in Florida responded as follows:
Dear Ms. Trenzado:
Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is in receipt of the complaint you filed with our office (see below), and she asked that we respond.
As you may already suspect, this is nothing more than a scam. You cannot be physically arrested or criminally charged for the non-payment of a debt. Even if the debt is legitimate, you cannot be physically arrested or criminally charged for non-payment. This is merely an illegal ploy that scam companies sometimes use to scare people into paying. Also, if a legitimate lawsuit is filed against you, that paperwork must be filed in the Clerk’s office in the county in which you reside, or the county where the loan first originated. If it is not there, you cannot be "served" with any type of legitimate, legal process.
If they continue to call you, please tell them to contact the Florida Attorney General to verify that they are a legitimate collection agency. If they refuse to do so, then they are a scam.
We'll enter the information you gave us into our investigative database, and hopefully we'll soon develop enough data that will lead us to those perpetuating this kind of scam.
We hope this information is of some help to you, and thank you for contacting the Office of the Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

- KimberlyWe have received many calls from this company. We are a private company ourselves and have had this phone number for over 5 years. No one of the name of Wesley H$%# has ever worked here or that we have ever dealt with. I've waited and switched over to speak to Jade Smith, a nice polite young woman who stated today that she has only worked there for one month. I explained to her that I have notes of speaking with Jade Smith 4 months ago, in order to get our company number off of their system, she could not explain such a coincidence, but was still polite to me on the phone. Obviously a collection company looking for poor Wesley!

- Amanda replies to Matt S.I got a call from the same number. They threatened lawsuit and said i owed 520 and i purposefully cancelled my bank so i wouldnt have to pay. I asked what the original amount was for and he would not confirm. He gave my address and the last four of my ssn and said i took this out in 2009. I said though i have taken other payday loans out before they have been taken care of and they were from companies with storefronts not online companies. I asked him to send me something in writing so i could do my own research. I have yet to receive an email. I reported the "loan" company to the bbb but was unable to find anything about Retrieval Mediation.....total scam.
- SHARON KOONReceived a call stating i owed a payday loan debt from 4/22/2009 for $735.00. They have my ss # and place of employment. I insisted on something in writing about the loan and received a form in my email from the above under the name of ashley herring. The address listed is 2367 business parkway, valdosta, ga. 31601 with info.Rmg@inbox.Com. The telephone number on my cell phone is 205-206-9687. Beware

- Lynne| 1 replyMy client was called by them and so I called them back. They asked for my state bar number so they must have a sophisticated show because they looked me up online to see if I was a lawyer. I asked for the contract in writing and they have yet to provide this alleged original contract.
