- DVR| 1 replyThis number called on 09/16/2011 and on 09/19/2011. No message. No nothing. Caller ID: 8063000952 (all numbers, no actual name).
- StephanieThis phone number is calling me every single morning.
- Caller: Noone talks when I answer.
- JDThis number called and when answered they hung up. No name just numbers on caller ID
- RufusNo ID, just a number, and did not leave a message
- DaveSilence on the line when I picked up, no response
- MaryThis number has been calling my cell which is private. I answered and it was a recorded message regarding lowering credit card rates. I pressed 9 as instructed because I want off the damn calling list. Live person picked up the line and I'm pretty sure said "shut up!" As soon as I stated that I want off the calling list and then hung up on me.
- roxCalled twice in 5 minutes. YOU ARE A TELEMARKETER, AND I DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ANY COMPANY THAT USES TELEMARKETING AS A FORM OF ADVERTISING". DON'T ANSWER UNKNOWN CALLS. DON’T HAVE YOUR NUMBER REMOVED! When you press the number to have your number removed, all you do is confirm that your number is a working one and then they sell your known active number to another scammer. Now I either block the numbers or I don't answer the phone at all.
Let me explain my idea of ROBO CALLS. Each area code has 9,999,999 numbers fyi (7 digits). Add to that that there are 800 possible area codes. The program starts calling every number that it can in succession. So they don't need to buy or obtain lists from anyone. I am going to copy and paste and post this info for each number that calls me for this web site (9,999,98 numbers times 800 more to copy and paste to).
NOTHING IS GOING TO STOP THESE SCAMMERS AND LAZY COLLECTION AGENCIES (statute of limitations on debt: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml) who call everyone with the same name instead of looking up the right one and all we can do is block them or use call forward selective.. DNC does not work when they are robo dialing all possible random numbers. The authorities can not or will not help either.
So, just block them, , and continue using this great site for information to be in control of your own home and cell phone calls. If it turns out that you did not answer a call from someone you know (number not on this site), just call them back. No problem. It’s a lot of work that I do (checking the number on this web site, blocking the caller, but at least I FEEL like I have a little control of the situation. Maybe I'm delusional. My home phone blocks 30 numbers but the address book holds 3,000 numbers. I save each call as spam and don't answer it.
ITS OUR LIFE AND WE NEED TO TAKE IT BACK.
One person said to call forward selective to the FCC whose number is 1-717-338-2533
The Center for Investigative Reporting joined two news organizations in an investigation of groups that use telemarketers to raise money and what they found is that most of the money is paid to telemarketers, leaving the charities with little, if anything. (3%)
Not only that but reputable charitable organizations don't solicit donations by phone.
So it's good advice to remember to just say no to anyone who solicits over the phone unless you actually know the person calling.
DEBT COLLECTORS
This was posted on this web site:
The Fair Debt Collection Act (FDCPA) was put into place To give people legal rights when it comes to collection agencies and collection attorneys. If this collection agency is calling you for a debt you owe or a debt that is not yours, they could be violating your rights.
IF YOU ARE BEING CONTACTED BY ANY COLLECTION AGENCY, get in contact with http://www.fdcpacompliance.com/ asap so they can determine what rights these bottom feeders have violated and take action. More and more American’s find themselves being hounded by debt collectors as a result of our country’s recent economic downturn. The good news is that harassment is an illegal act according to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). The great news is that each infraction is PUNISHABLE UP TO $1,000.00 TO THE CONSUMER for statutory damages, and possibly more for actual damages! The offending agency also has to pay your attorney’s fees. The only thing that the consumer generally has to do is help to gather and provide information.- Caller: customer service
- Robert GrantUnwanted automatic calls about credit cards. (806) 300-0952 This tries to get you to press 9. About credit card debt and interest deals. We have no debt
- JimNo name just the #, they left no message so I blocked #.
- MPThey called me - said they had to speak about my "credit card" account making it sound like I was in trouble - I do NOT have any credit cards. I clicked 9 to speak to someone to tell them to put me on the do not call list - Christine Johnson answerd. I said "I do not have a credit card" and she hung up on me - tried calling back and they have "do not disturb" activated.
This is fraud- Caller: 806-300-0952

- Charley| 1 replyThis number just called me, I have relatives from this area. But didn't answer. I blocked my number and called them back to see if it was family. This number was disconnected, and I called them right back. Scam.
- Call type: Fax
- Charley replies to CharleyIts not a fax machine, I just can't change it. Sorry.
- Rich replies to DVRWARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are B I G credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers! Under NO circumstances, give these lowlifes your credit card number, or you will regret it forever!

- Jenn T.Called me at 12:13 PM. Earlier today at 10:51, I got another scam call from (814)472-7662. I never answer a call from a number I don't recognize - I figure if anyone really needs to speak to me they will leave a message. No messages were left.
- Bama GirlCalled at 9:30 a.m. today. Did not leave a message. After reading the above messages, I do not intend to answer should they call back.
- SarahBEWARE! Called about lowering credit card rates. Obviously phishing for personal info and trying to get people by attempting to worry them about their credit card accounts. DO NOT ever give anyone your credit card info over the phone. Any legit credit card company or bank will NEVER ask for your card information over the phone. If anyone calls asking to verify your information, hang up immediately and call your bank or credit card company yourself to verify it was them actually calling.
- LLMJust a note for those people who "block" their (own) numbers and call these scammers back...the block-number codes do not work on these scammers. They get your number when you call them regardless of what you do.
- annoyedReceived a call from this number and answered the phone. It was an automated message saying it was card services calling about my credit card, but it was not an emergency and there was nothing wrong with my credit card. It said to press a number (can't remember which) if I would like more information about lowering my interest rate on my credit card. I was not interested in this but wanted to be removed from their call list. I informed the guy who picked up that I was on the National Do Not Call Registry, and the guy on the other end mocked me, saying, "What's that? I've never heard of it." He said that if I wanted to be removed from their list, I should call the owner at 253-215-2351. I won't call this number because I don't want to incur long distance charges on my home phone, but I also don't want to give these guys my cell. So I am here posting about it and will file a complaint wherever I can.
Bottom line is that this company seems to be changing their messages and tactics a bit, but same robo calling and probably same scam.- Caller: Card Services
