- emcee| 1 replyThis woman said her name was Kathy Hix. She said she was calling to offer me a loan modification because she was notified by my bank that my home was in foreclosure. I told her that was a lie and that my home was not in foreclosure. When I questioned her with regard to exactly how she was going to save my house if it was in foreclosure, she became beligerent and attacked me verbally, saying that I was harrassing her! She said she must have the wrong number and that I must be really bored to want to question a "wrong number". I am on the Do Not Call list. I believe that she is a mortgage foreclosure chaser, which is a new version of ambulance chaser. These people, sometimes attorneys or law clerks or even bail bondsman, set up non-profits to milk the federal and state governments out of money. Then they subscribe to foreclosure lists which contain erroneous or outdated information. Some even resell these lists to others who jump on the bandwagon. Ultimately they are using our tax money to set up non profit mortgage rescue companies trying to jump in and profit from other people's misfortune. 2 years ago, a person with the same name and phone number was running ads for a blind installer. I also found the same name has been involved as a bail bonding company in Allegan County Michigan. Not sure if it is the same person.

- anonymous replies to emceeFolks, the FTC's MARS Rule bans upfront payment for mortgage relief services (like a mortgage mod get you a lower mortgage payment) so if you get called by one of these companies, do *NOT* pay any money up front if they demand it. The Rule says your mortgage mod must be all done *BEFORE* they can charge you for the work. Any company that demands money up front is a SCAMMER.
Read about it here http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2011/02/pdf/110210mars_homeowners.pdf

- Irenegot this same phone call and let it go to voice mail but the caller ID number was 810-244-6314 which is a medical collection agency and we don't owe any medical bills but "Kathy" left a message saying she had good news about saving our home which is in foreclosure but the number she gave to call back was 810-287-3588. Our lawyer says to ignore these calls and they are scams and if we continue to get them, our lawyer will call them to cease and desist. Since our home has gone into foreclosure we are getting several of these so called "save your home" scams. We are on the do not call list but that makes no difference, we get these type of calls a lot.
- dana5570Here is her email address: kathy@homecenter.com. I keep getting calls from them for Harold Knaggs, who I'm ready to strangle because he gave out my cell phone number as his so I keep getting calls from everyone for him.

- VickiShe called my parent's number and told them they had "good news" about MY home. Needless to say, I called back and yelled quite loudly. Told them to never call my parent's or my number again. We'll see if having her remove me from the list actually works.
- Caller: Kathy Hicks / Kathy Hix at The Housing Center
- unhappyThis call was from Kathy Hix at the Home Center (http://www.loan-mortgagebroker.com/Mortgage/K ... -MI-7952967.htm). Yes, our house is being foreclosed upon, which is why she was calling. She saw the advertisement, and I assume performed a Google search or something similar to find a phone number for us. The phone number she got was not ours, but belonged to my in-laws. Interestingly, my in-laws don't even live in the same city we do, so she and her staff obviously have no clue. A second Google search of the phone number would have revealed the phone number owner's name and the city they live in -- confirming that the phone number did not belong to us.
Ms. HIx left a voice mail message asking that we call her. While the message left was semi-cryptic ("we have great news concerning your property"), it was enough for my in-laws to wonder why someone was calling their phone (where my husband has not resided in over 20 years) to leave a message for us and question us about it. Not being able to lie to them, they now know of our situation which we are embarrassed about and would have tried our best not to let them (or anyone) in on. I called to tell Kathy that the number she called was not ours and to please not call them again. She quickly said "I'm sorry" and brushed me off the phone. Funny that she didn't ask for the phone number or name to confirm who was calling her. Again, she obviously had no clue because she AGAIN called my in-laws and left another voice mail. I called today to again tell her how embarrassing it was for my in-laws to now know of our situation because of her phone call, and again requested she not call again. We'll see.
Even if I wanted her help, I wouldn't use this firm for anything, and will spread the word about their "ambulance-chaser" type tactics in getting clients.
After Google searching her phone number to find out who she was, I should also note she has another phone number (810-244-6311).- Caller: Home Center/Kathy Hix
- Mel ShepGot a call from this number this morning to my EX-husbands house with a message for "good news". Thanks a lot lady, like I'm not stressed enough over my situation, you really need to call people and tell them our business!!! I'm so sick!!

- ZapFlintMIKathy offered me a job doing 'telmakerting'. The number she gave me to call her was this one. She was really nice, but a tad bit vague on the details of the type of work. She couldn't give me any handouts about the job or a business card either. She did say I would be leaving messages saying "good news about your 'forecloser' or 'property'. I was flattered about the job offer and interested in making more money, but after googleing her name I realized i really don't want any part of what she does. The first thing that comes up in google is how her previous company, which is now dissolved, got sued because they allegedly over appraised a house, had shotty siding repairs done under false promises, and ended up costing the homeowner a lot of money in a higher morgage rate, the shotty work, and in housing insurance too. All over a mail solicitation to refinance a home loan. And omg is she related to Tom Jobroun? Everyone in Genesee County knows that name I think, and I would not call him a "beloved" member of society.

- Kelley gageA lady called me didn't say her name or the company she worked for. She asked me questions about the house I had to let go back to the bank due to personnel reasons. She then began to tell me that I could get extra money into my pocket and started explaining things that made zero sense to me. I had my sister search the number due to me driving when she called and found out it was this Kathy hicks number i will not be answering the number again if she calls! Oh and let me remind you she called on labor day!!!!
- Aggravated!Received a call that we would be abble to buy our home back for a much kesser amount...was given to a "lawyer" and he wants to do a modification with the band or a land contract. Then I read these review and realized its a scam...thats sad people play on peoples emotions!

- Joe| 6 repliesGot a call from this Kathy, and she said I had money coming. Our house did go into foreclosure, and I read these reviews, and was very skeptical. Then she told me she would have a licensed Real Estate Broker call me. I ended up listening to what the local Real Estate guy said, and the bank actually put the sale amount a lot lower than what we owed. I didn't know what that meant, but then he told me that it changes our redemption amount. He came and put the house up for sale for us, and we got an offer within a month, and I walked away with $11,000, ON A FORECLOSED HOUSE!!!. I think it's called underbidding? or something? Anyways. I was never asked for any money up front, and never had to pay anything. It really worked out for me. I couldn't be happier.
