Call was from Indiana University Alumni Association asking for a pledge to their scholarship fund

Thanks for the lead. Don't want to use cell minutes being constantly asked for money!

Yeah, this number, and I think 856-3404 and a couple of other ones, call over and over, all days, usually in the evening. I answer, and they ask for me by name. I tell them, "Oh, she's not here. Can I take a message?" They never leave one. Nice to know I'm being hounded for money.

I will eventually pick up, as I'm an alum and should definitely contribute, but still don't appreciate 6 different phone numbers without voicemails.

I've been wondering who has been calling me.  They call, I say "Hello" and either I hear someone talking or laughing or I hear nothing at all.  I've had no idea whose been calling.  Too bad they won't be getting a donation from me.  They got enough while I was there for 4 years. :)

I just started getting calls from the #3404 number the past two days..Hell, I graduated back in 1984, I'm surprised they even got me listed on the rosters...didn't give nothing then, and sure in hell ain't giving them nothing now!!

I don't believe in giving to a university that I paid thousands of dollars for a diploma!

The IU foundation is calling me from the #3404, I don't answer strange numbers and they don't leave a voicemail. I picked up once and a freshman who's been taught to approach people in an extremely strange and awkward way asked me to donate $200. This center needs restructuring and managers should be fired there, they don't know how to talk to people. I would donate only if I was making enough money to live, but I'm not. Also, learn to leave voicemail and don't call over and over and keep bugging people when they say we can't don't donate..

Recv'd calls with info about my graduation from IU...like they are a part of IU foundation.  Odd that they call me on weekends or weeknights, acting like they are a student and interested in what I've done since I've graduated...Not sure it's legitimate, have message into IU Foundation to see if they endorse this...I'm guessing NOT, may be scam...more later

Really?  You can't donate to the University that educated you?  Apparently they didn't educate you well enough.  It's called giving back.  Paying it forward.  Being socially responsible.

Most people "donate" to the university that educates them in a form commonly known as "tuition".

Interesting.  If it is IU, they shouldn't be calling me or my husband.  They have continued to call him for months, stopped a bit ago, now are trying my number in the evenings.  Neither of us are alumni.  I went to Massachusetts.

Although I too, am irritated with the constant phone calls at all hours, sometimes three times a day, I do think it is important to recognize that tuition does not cover all costs that it actually takes to give you the experience you have had at IU. I understand that tuition is expensive, but if no one gave not only would educational services plummit so would wrap around services like facilities and structural improvements, dining, career counseling, studient activities, athletics, arts and cultural programming, equipment, campus safety initiatives, and more.

I graduated in 71 and again in 76, but they call at least once a year.

They just called me, asked if I was an IUAA member, I replied yes, then they hung up... And I tried calling them back and it's a recording saying I dialed the wrong number

I donate to IU every year, not a huge amount, but I donate every year since I graduated. Yet, I am still getting calls multiple times/week at both my work and my cell, day & night and weekend. I am not sure of the purpose of calls since I already donate. Also it appears to be extremely unprofessional to constantly call me at work. I really don't want my school to have the same reputation as an aggressive, unfriendly telemarketer.

I don't mind donating to the university that educated me, but I am a Purdue grad! So why donate to IU??

1. I paid out of state tuition while attending this university.   I did not join alumni association because I don't feel anything special about the intense debit and expensive education I received there.  
2. I owe IU nothing, it did not GIVE me anything. I paid for it and I earned the degree through hard work.
3. You've called me 10 years and I've never donated, stop calling.
4. I donate to much more worthy causes than an expensive university with a big ego.
5. An IU degree did nothing more for me than any community college degree or online university.

They keep calling my cell phone. I didn't go to Indiana University though, so it's pretty irritating. We went over this last year, too. Stop calling!

I didn't go to IU, but my ex husband did.  It's pretty interested if they somehow linked us after we've been divorced for six years.
