Caller claims to be from "Public Power" and wants to sell some sort of power plan.  I am already on the National Do Not Call list and filed a report on this caller.

Made believe I wasn't the person in the house that the caller was looking for and specifically asked if he was calling to sell something.  I was told that he was NOT selling something, but that he just needed authorization to apply the "lower rate" to the household energy account.  He also added that they're the power "provider" and it's not "just us" who are entitled to the lower rate - it's everyone.  What a scam and an outright lie about not selling something.  

The caller said he was calling from Public Power (very similar name to Public Service, no?), but caller ID shows Energy Choice.

I have been on the Do Not Call list since it's inception and continually renew my listing - so this really aggravates me!

Please don't call again

These folks called asking for person that makes decisions about the electric bill. Since this was a work number they called at, I told them they had the wrong number and who were they trying to reach.  So they knew my name and also mentioned an address that i lived at 10 years ago (and not since then).  Apparently it's one of those alternative energy suppliers working with PSE&G, JCPL and ACE  (and no other NJ power companies) to offer me a lower electric supply rate.  I told him that I don't live in an area serviced by any of those and he apologized.  Considering that I'm on the Do Not Call list (just recently renewed also, for all my phone numbers), I'm guessing that PSE&G gave them the phone numbers of their customers directly.

Called me. Scam.

These people are a Pain In The Ass. I live in Ct. I am also on the Do Not Call List! WTF! I wish they would leave me alone!!

Did you apply for a cheaper electric rate on your bill? This number shows up on caller id alot, but I did request a cheaper rate/company for my electric bill.

Left no message.  Googled:  Several complaints from Jul-Aug last year.
"Public Power" SCAMMERS peddling alternative energy plans.  These guys appear to be newbie dimwits.  Googling the number also led to this guy's Facebook page:

with lots on "friends" "contacts" photos - the whole 9 yards of this Bozos so-called "life."  Guy looks like a total ZERO.
If you get a call, you might be tempted to greet him with a response on the order of, "Hey!  Scott, my man!  Would you believe that I have a couple large, angry business associates sort of "working" in your area right now.  I'm gonna give 'em a quick  text and have them swing by your place.  Maybe - you know - give ya a couple tips on proper phone manners.  Then, you maybe won't be cold calling busy people and interrupting their days for a while.  Now ... you have a really great day, Scottie!"  CLIICK!
   This fool appears to be a bit "into" the fight game, so he might just buy it and blow town.

Scott Hedger is a convicted felon and this telemarketing business is not even licensed. ILLEGAL! He cant get licensed in the state of Florida because he is a felon. He NEEDS to get shut down! It takes more than one person to complain....but go online to department of agriculture and consumers Florida and file a complaint against him and the company.also scam report and rip off report. The people who work for him are not licensed either. I used to work for this place. They made me stand all day long I was not allowed to sit or take a break. He is actually in jail right now in Pinellas county Florida. Scott and his managers pull all of the phone numbers that are being dialed out. Public Power does not even know what is going on over there. They are just using him for his call center to make calls. Bob Gries owns public power. Maybe someone should tell them whats going on. Energy Choice Preference is the name.

Most times it is just a random dial. It will not matter if you are on the do not call list because they maintain they are offering a service and not selling you anything. Technically they will be working with your utility company not you so it is true.
