I received a text message to call this number regarding my Bank of America card. It asked me for my SSN. After entering it though, I though better of it and hung up. Now I have to consider signing up for LifeLock or something because I gave my SSN.

got a text  it said "urgent call 813-319-7002 credit union"   yeah right ill call you, just sit by the phone and wait!!!

I just received the same message. How did they get my phone number? And how can I block all further contact of this kind?

I got the same text. Unfortunately I gave them my social but before entering my card number i realized it could be a scam so i hung up. I got the text at 9:33

Got the exact same text as listed above! "(Notice) Call 813 319-7002 Credit Union" from  47898744@vtext.com.  Definitely a scam!

I also received a text at 10:25 am, 12/03/13, from 95365@vtext.com...it stated:
(Alert) Call 813 319-7002 Credit Union.  I have had issues before with other numbers. I am reporting it to Verizon [my carrier] they have a team who investigates issues such as these...open the message and forward it to 7726. You will receive a text message back from 7726 thanking you for reporting spam and to reply with the sender's number [again]. Messages sent to 7726 are shared with security providers to help prevent spam. You will receive another message from 7726 thanking you and appreciating your assistance. They also state, to immediately block messages from this sender please visit Vzw.com>My Verizon>Block Calls and messages. Hope this helps! Please remember this is for people who have Verizon as their carrier....Then I will delete the message.

Yup, I just ot one too. I am ignoring it! It must be random generated as  I have the paid ones blocked!
