When the receiver is picked up, the phone clicks off!  When dialed back a recording states that the number is no longer in service????

"Hello?" –– can hear activity in the background...  no other response. Verdict: telemarketer/survey taker/pain in the a**.

Calls at least once daily. After answering call is disconnected. Very annoying. On call-back intercepted stating "the number you are trying to reach is out of service"; then how can caller ID show this number as caller??

Number has been on caller id all this week.  Number called agao\in today, I was home so I answered but no one there.  Caller id states name as Florida.  I also called the number back and the recording stated it was out of service.

Calls almost daily. Answer and no one is on the line and they hang up. Very annoying, and put the number on call block. Caller ID name shows Florida.

No messages left and can't reach anyone on call back. Number out of service.

Every day twice a day, on the landline so cannot block, call back, disconnected,  yea right, it's simply not right these asshats can bug us, and we can't get them back....gonna disconnect landline....

I've had the same problem.  Get one of these call blocker things.  They are fantastic.  I've been getting at least three calls a day from this number but I have it blocked so they never ring through.  All they get is a continuous ring on their end with not answer or answering machine.  It wastes their time and keeps me from being bothered by them.  

I've googled this number and get a variety of associated people.  Most in Tampa but a couple in other places.  Some come from "advanced background check" some from "whitepages.com reverse phone"  and some from other links.  Here are some of the names and addresses that pop-up as associated with this number:

and there are at least 10 others with the same number on the "Advanced Background Report" site alone.  So this is either a spoofed number or some sort of call number used by everyone associated with this "business" or scam.  Perhaps is some sort of VOIP that everyone uses.  Not sure.  Maybe the regulars that know more about this stuff can weigh in on possible explanations.

Get a call from this number every several days -- pick it up and whoever is making the call immediately hangs up.  Attempt to call the number back and get a message that number is no longer in service.

I think I've tracked this down.  The number is associated with F 1 Racing-simulators - Simxperience Florida Inc.  Their contact info is listed as:

This phone number is their FAX machine so they are probably spamming fax machines.  When the call doesn't receive a fax signal, it hangs up. I'm going to try reporting this to FCC but don't know if it will help.

Called our mid-fl landline at 1.34p on 6/13/14.  Left no msg, caller id is the number.  Harassing scammers.

received call tonight from this number.  we didn't pick up and caller didn't leave message.  we have no idea who this is.

recent articles at better business bureau, scam busters dot com and the fiscal times dot com indicate that there is a new scam that telemarketers and scammes are using. They are now using the spoofed numbers of regular people.....anyone who has a telephone number, small local businesses, friends or neighbors of the targeted phone call. The articles also state that the scammers have figured out that householders will not pick up the phone if they have checked and determined that the number in the caller ID is spoofed. By using the phone numbers of regular people and regular businesses (there have already been reports of "florists", "childcare centers" and elderly people randomly calling lots of different householders. The scammers are hoping to trick the householder into picking up the phone. Another new scam according to the better business bureau is for the scammer to call the target phone number.....using the householder's own phone number in the caller ID. The idea is to pique the householder's curiousity (or shock them) into picking up the phone to see why their own phone number is displayed the caller ID. The BBB warns against picking up these calls, but if you do.....do not press any buttons if you get a recorded message instructing you to do so. If you missed the call, do not call the number back and
do not give out any financial or personal identifying information to the supposed caller.

caller unknown keeps calling

Called on 9/18/14 at 1:14pm.  They left no message and caller id is a repeat of the phone number.  Only intent is to harass.
