- scam finder| 14 repliesPeople called from the 8136660952 and said I was approved for $2000.00 and that I Hasbro go to WalMart and open 2 GE moneybank cards for $20 each, but not to activate them then call them back and they would deposit the money on them. Knowing you don't do this I looked up GE money bank and checked this out, and sure enough its a scam. Don't give them your money and dint do this unless you want to loose your hard earned money, its a scam!!!!!
- Caller: supposedly GE moneybank, but not them. someone from india.
- vcogg| 27 repliesI received a call from this number the other day. The man calling, (David Williams, if that was his real name), said he was with GE Money Bank & that the loan I had applied for had been approved.
As I'd been applying to various lenders for a consolidation loan, I wasn't suspicious of having one be "approved ". We discussed terms & other related topics, & I increased the loan amount from $2k to $10k, for a term of 60 months. Mr. Williams reworked the details of the $10k loan & said that my monthly payment would be $90. (That's waaay to low for a $10k loan!).
To receive the funds, Mr. Wlliams instructed me to go to a WalMart, purchase a $500 money card, then load $500 on it. I was to then call him, prior to activating the 2 cards ($500 ea). He would immediately load the money on each card, & it would be available for me immediately. So essentially, if I was able to get the money elsewhere, funds would be available already & they would immediately receive the remainder to pay them back for the $500 they'd fronted for me.
Problem was, if I had the $500, I probably wouldn't be applying for a loan, now would I?? He said that surely I had family or friends who could help out. I told him that I could look into it, but I doubted anyone would be able to do so, what with mony being so tight right now.
Mr. Williams continued to push (which just makes me dig in harder), in an attempt to close the deal that day (before I had a chance to catch on to the scam), but I left it that we would talk at the end of the week & see where things stood then (today).
To amuse myself & hopefully help save someone else from falling for these scams, I like to mess with the caller & keep them tied up with me for as long as possible. My record is 28 minutes. :)
Due to the scope of this scam, the authorities are now involved. Since I have not yet completed the transaction with Mr. Williams, I hoped that somehow we could turn this into bad news for him. Yes, they can just turn around & open another account, etc., but I know I would derive some satisfaction in that they will be put out for even an afternoon. Think about it -- would you want your grandparents to fall victim to one of these creeps? No? Then contact the authorities & become involved; each person that joins in makes the case that much stronger again these jerks.- Caller: allegedly GE Money Bank

- Puzzled| 5 repliesI hate to sound cold but how so many people can fall for such a simple minded scam is beyond me.
It's doesn't take an attorney to know when something is "Just Not Right". Any time anyone calls you on the phone and makes an offer of any kind, that sounds too good to be true, well it isn't true 99.9999 percent of the time. I mean, picture this....sight unseen, just a voice over the telephone, and you're going to just hand over money on the oft chance that it might just be legit??? Please people, for your own sake and that of your families, don't fall for any of this Telephone scam stuff. If it is a legitimate offer, they will not push you to respond right then. They will encourage you to take the time tho check it out. Do yourself a favor and check out all that you may anticipate doing business with before you get involved and then know who and what you are dealing with. These people remain in business because they are getting profitable results. If those results become non-Profitable, they will either go away or get into a new scam.
My sympathies for those who have been taken by these scums. - DISGUSTEDI received a call from these people as well I told them that I decline the offer and they continued to call me. Out of anger I let them know that I know they are frauds they even gave the name John Smith as a manager. They then began cursing me and making vulgar statements. I have blocked the calls they call from other numbers. I had to change my number and now they are calling my job. I don't know what to do at this point any ideas????
This has been going on for over 3 weeks - Elizabeth replies to devon white| 1 replyThey did that to me today. U should have called the money pack and police.

- IGOTRIPPEDOFF| 2 repliesI got a call like that but from a different number. Some 330 area code number. I applied online for a loan (which was completely stupid, because there are so many local loan places where everyone with a checking account and direct deposit can get easily approved.) and I get a call from them saying they are USAPAYDAY and that I was approved for a loan up to 1000 dollars. I only asked for 600 and the guy just kept insisting that I get a 1000 dollar loan. Probably so I would have to load a bigger money pak "first loan payment proof" or whatever bullsh**t. So I loaded a 175 dollar card hoping to get that and the 600. Then thiS mother fuc*ker came out with "you owe $240 to the taxes department" or texas department. Couldn't really understand his Indian accent. The most sketchy part was his name was Dan Richardson. In my head I was like what a load of bull. Maybe he just wanted to seem Americanized I guess. What's even more sketchy is when I would call and they wouldn't answer it would say "the magic jack customer you have called is unable to take your call". Again, bull. No REAL company would us a magic jack for their phone. I swear I would literally beat this dudes face in with a crowbar if I ever met him.
