no one replied, hung up when I answered

This goon calls with hoarse voice, like deep throat, in early evening. Asks for me by name, and sounds suspicious.  I did not say anything and hung up.  I called the number and no one anwswers.  It looks like a USF number.

i received a call from this number. i was asleep, so i missed it. i called back and got no answer.

are you guys usf students?

this number always call on a Sunday..when I answer it hangs up...when I call back there is no answer and no voice mail...I am an USF alumni

Saw this same number on my caller ID...called on a Sunday at 5pm. No message. Caller ID said "USF". Got a bit concerned, thought it might be about my child attending there. Called the number, no answer.

I had a missed call from this number as well. 2:30 on a Sunday. I am also a USF alumni. STRANGE!!!

Just got a call from this number, Sunday 4:15pm. No message, I am a USF Alum, it looks like one of their numbers.

7:45 in the evening on a Tuesday....I didn't answer.

Calls from 813-974 numbers are calls from the University of South Florida.  They call in an effort to speak with parents and alumni about making donations to USF.

Ive gotten a call from this number and calls from numbers just like it about 5 times in the past week. The boy on the phone tried to say that they are from the Parent and Family association, Alumni Association, then he said a 'call center' at USF and was trying to get ahold of my parents yet they called my cell number at 7PM on a Sunday and have called me around this time almost everyday this week. They would not tell me what it was regarding which stirs my suspicions. I work at USF so I know the 974 prefix is a USF number but I think the kid on the phone was trying to feed me a lot of 'bull'. Rest assure I will be reporting this in the morning for harrasment.

Sounds like the alumni associaton... 974 is definitely a USF number.  i didnt answer but everytime i call back its busy so its gotta be from a call center.

I've been getting calls from the following numbers almost weekly, usually anywhere from 7-9PM.  I started getting them after I refused to donate to the USF alumi association.  These are all the numbers they have tried to call me on:

And the alumni association called me from 813-974-8821.  Looks like someone is phishing to me...

Most of the time I do not answer calls from numbers I don't have in my address book (but a few manage to get through once in a while).  If the caller wants to talk to me, they leave a message.  It helps to weed out solicitations.

They keep harassing my parents, not my number. They will not leave a message and it's nearly impossible to call them back.

This number keeps calling me, and when I call back I get nothing....the next time they call I will call the police and let them handle it or get the number disconnected, im tired of it. And I too a a USF student.

I have gotten at least 10 calls from this number and on the caller ID it says USF. I really doubt the calls are coming from USF and no one in my house is a student or former student.

I worked at the USF alumni association for three weeks while I was a student. Numbers show up in the reps' database and if there is no answer, it is thrown back into the calling pool which is why the association shows up as so many numbers. It will keep calling and returning to the database until they get ahold of someone.

I am the current manager of the University of South Florida Telefund.  All calls from 813-974-XXXX numbers are legitimate.  We have a 30 station call center located in the Sam and Martha Gibbons Alumni Center.  All of the stations have different numbers, hence why you may be called from a different number on a different day.  

We call parents of current students, all alumni, and friends of the University. These calls are used to update information, get feedback on the University, and ask for support for our Parents Fund or the college/campus from which an alum has graduated.  

We also call seniors on behalf of the Senior Class Gift Campaign.

Recieved a call , seem slike it is USF , left a message about USF but it was barely understandable .
Called back and no answer.
This started after a call requesting donations for the association.

Stop calling! I have no connection to Florida and no intention of donating.

Got a call Nov 20, 2012 at 7:14 pm from 813-974-2766.  They did not leave any message.  I called back Nov 21, 2012 noon time and nobody answered.
