CALLED AT 8:30 AND 9PM ON A SUNDAY NIGHT.  NO MESSAGE. ]

Received a call 4 times in the afternoon and no message.

Got a call from Card Services and left no message

nobody answers on the other end, and they hang up when they get the answer machine!!

Called a minute ago without leaving a message! Who the hell is this and how do I get them to stop calling??

A man called from this number and asked for my old supervisor who no longer works for our company. I told him that and offered to help him instead. He sounded quite surprised, said he didn't know he was no longer with the company and didn't want to talk to me.
He was very polite but non-informative.

I assumed it might have been a family member who was unaware of the situation as he has family in Pennsylvania. However after reading the above responses I'm thinking it could have been collections too.

Got a call on my land line and cell phone. Number is from State College, PA. I know that becasue I went to college there. WHen you answer no one is there. When you call back you get a busy signal. It's annoying! If it's collections then I'd like to talk to someone about what I owe. I am unaware of any delinquencies in my name.

number keeps constantly calling every god damn morning at 9:15am  and seeing as i work nights, and 9:15 im still in bed its extremely irritating, and everytime i call this number back i hear two clicks, and ringing, someone picks up and then hangs up, i believe its a bill collector but they dont have to call so much, i know i dont owe [***] to anyone

It is bank of america card services. They just called me twice at 8:30
and 8:35 pm Sunday night.

Are they suppose to call on Sunday or is that against the law?

Got a call twice (8pm, 8:30pm) on Sunday. Called about late payment on credit card (which I missed). Very friendly and professional. Got the problem taken care of.

814-234-7699 is a scam, don't give out your SS# or Acct. # when they ask for it, they will say they called to make sure you can afford the montly payements and that they are from Bank of America, they are here to help you.
instead they are a bunch of crooks that are looking for loosers to fall in for there lies.
i called back the number, all she want from me is SS# Act. # she will not tell me if she called me or anyone called me, when i asked her.

Yeah, you're one of them.  Don't be fooled by the collection agencies folks.  As far as calling on Sundays, they can call whenever they please.  These numbers do not all represent one particular party, many of them are used by different branches of a company to either solicit information or to collect a payment for some overdue bill.  Scammers have figured this out and also possess the ability to tap into these various "unknown numbers" for their own personal gain.  Do not give out your information over the phone.  If they are a legitimate company calling to collect a payment, they will already have all of the information about you on hand.  I do know, however, that should they call you at work, and you tell them not to call back on your work number, it is violating FCC regulations if they call you again using that number.  If they are exceptionally rude or distasteful towards you, the best route to take is notifying your credit card company.  They all discourage this, but it does help.  By telling the creditors that you are not willing to work with them and the reasons as to why, then they are normally forced to change their approach to dealing with your situation.

He said his name is Dan Dortin from Bank of America. He stated I have not made a payment on my credit Card bill and asked if I want to avoid late fees I can pay over the phone with my checking account.

Received a phone call from 814-234-7699 @ 9:34am on Sat. 4-18-09. They left no message, but I was suspicious of the area code that I did not recognize. I check here on line and found this page. I rarely get phone calls on my cell, but when I realized I had been scammed by an online application to rent a place, I now know where that led to. I don't understand why it is so hard to shut these people down.
