- RaviGot a call from this number. Seems to be some tele marketing type - asking for some subscription to a 'free' magazine bla bla bla. I politely said "No". He (with a heavy slang) went on asking - I interrupted and said "This is my mobile. I don't want to waste my minutes. No means NO, NO and NO. Thanks".
I added this number to my "REJECT LIST" to avoid further inconveniences.- Caller: Unable to decipher (Heavy Slang)

- YvetteKuhns replies to Illinois| 2 repliesCaller ID said Union, IL. Call made at 10 am EST while I was taking another call, so they could not leave a message. They have called before - I saw the number and location on Caller ID, but they did not leave a message. Someone said they got a message about a free e-seminar hosted by CA (the IT company) and that would make sense for me. I have used products by CA and I am in the IT field.
- D replies to YvetteKuhns| 1 replyI think it's just 'pre-business' advertising/magazine hawking. I'm in IT, so being offered an IT white-paper (I answered the call) didn't seem unusual. Dialing for (future) dollars. (I didn't hear any costs other than 'free of charge') The questions that were asked matched those asked by other hawkers of IT trade journals: the idea being to then carpet-bomb you with more 'directed advertising'. In that context, confirming your mailing address and public contact info didn't seem unusual.
- Iron Gate| 2 repliesCaller asked for an employee that has not been working here for over 3 years. Caller said he was calling from "IBM". Mumbled something about white papers. Didn't give me any more information other than "this is a business call." Asked him if there was a number to reach him at later. He said there was not, and would just call back later.
I asked, "You're calling from IBM and there is no direct number for you?" That is when he admitted that he was calling from a Call Center that "deals with IBM products" and not "IBM directly". (i.e. BOLD-FACED LIE!!!) Asked him to remove us from his list.- Call type: Telemarketer
- JasonFemale caller with an asian sounding accent asked for someone who doesn't live at this number. Asked if it was harvard university. I said no. She asked what company she had reached and I said a personal cell phone. She apologized and hung up.
Note: this was a real person - she got past my press a button to talk to me system. - Fred, Esq.Called my law firm office line. Caller with Indian or Pakistani accent (most likely a foreign call center) knew my name and said he wanted to confirm my address for some design magazine. Politely told him he just called a lawyer at a law firm and if he didn't remove my name from his list he and his employer would be sued.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- boudrouii keep getting cell calls from this number and not picking up. makes sense if they are ziff davis related - i am in it also and think they wanted me to purchase books on certs
- MarlysGot a call from 815-506-4291. Caller said he was Ben Stone from Dell and wanted to speak with our IT manager. He wouldn't give me any further info and said he'd call later. Will add him to my "do not answer" list.

- StormCalled my cell, went on about assessing my needs regarding 802.11n networking hardware. The caller was very careful to say 802.11n instead of just "wireless N". Had a deep asian (as in southern asia) accent. When I told him that I was a techie and didn't really need to be assessed at all, he insisted that I confirm my mailing address. Being that I never gave him my address, nor did he ask if an address was correct in being mine, I declined and said that I can handle my own technical needs. When he insisted I confirm my mailing address, I again declined and told him that I knew what I was doing, as I have been working with computers since before Win95. He then asked me to forward his call to the head of the Networking department. I told him I was the head of the networking department. He apologised and hung up.
