Caller id came up as illinois state police . I didn't answer and they didn't leave a messsge.

this is not funny if the police wants you that bad they will come to your address I liked to report this 8155160966 number as  a scam for people trying to get money from you

I am on National Do Not Call List and keep my numbers regularly updated (have to renew every three years).  I would love to be able to know who's to get charged with harassing (unwanted) calls.  Shows IL Police on caller ID but shows as a Rockford IL landline phone.  When it rolled to the answering machine, no message was left.

I answered, and no one spoke to me.

I've never had this # call before...kinda scared me since it said Illinois police I thought maybe a family member was hurt but left no msg. Has anyone tried to call back? Think I might.

Registration to the DNCR for consumers does not expire. The only time numbers are removed is if they are disconnected, reassigned or the consumer asks for their number to be removed.

This number has called often and never leaves a message.  I guess it's not important, just wonder how a scammer is able to get a phone number that comes up on caller ID was the State Police. Swe ms like that should be against the law.

Fictional charity, begging for money.

I've been having the same problem since the fIrst week of January. Has anyone called the real Rockford police station to let them know this is happening?

Fourth call in six days.  Do they think someone more gullible will eventually answer this phone???

Fifth call in 7 days.  This time we chatted about the DNC, exceptions to it, and parties making illegal calls from out of the country.  He didn't bother asking me for money this time.
Wonder if they'll call back yet again.....

Caller ID came up as "Illinois Police". They didn't leave a message. Smells like scam.

They are not from any Illinois Police Department. He asked for a donation for the Illinois Policeman Assn. Asked him if the Waukegan Police Dept. would get any of the donations. He said oh yes they sure do. My reply was that a Waukegan Police do not get any donations from for the Illinois Policeman Assn. cause there is no such Assn. So my friends there you have it a scam.

I missed the call, for me it just came up as "Illinois" for the caller ID. They called Sunday, February 1st 2015 at around 11:00am. No Message left. I would also point out that if it were the police they would at the vary lest leave a message or the next step would be coming to my home, as no one has I would say they are 100% NOT the police.

I have gotten about 10 calls form this number since January 20,2015. I also got Hallo, no one from the association is available to answer your call. States as Illinois Police 815-516-0966. It is getting very irritating to say the least !

I have received at least eight phone calls AFTER I picked up to say not to call again. I thank you all for your info and this site for its assistance

The local police dept said to hang up on these calls , quote
" we never do or never will, call anyone on the phone and ask for donations" and no legit police dept in the state of Illinois makes any calls either, your tax dollars pay for all our needs, either sales , property, or income tax. through state and or federal.
This is a scam call 815-516-0966 right after I told the guy it was on the news last week and told him the police are saying don't even talk to these fraud callers, I hang up and a bogus home security call comes next, caller id says HOME SECURITY coincidence

they are a SCAM , real police do not call and ask for donations, they get their money from taxes , fines, license fees, etc.
and they act like they know you when they call, best to just hang up on them or ask for a return number where you can call them, after you report it to your local police depr or sheriff dept.

Ask them for a return number where you can call them back so you can give their phone number to your local police dept.
