From this number, they called 08-20-14 several times.  Would not say anything and then hang up.  At about 3:15 pm, I answered and India speaking gentleman said I had an issue with file downloading and would i turn on the computer.  I told him if he knew i had a download issue, he would know i had the computer on.  He was hard to understand and background noise make it more difficult.  He asked were all my icons on the screen and then hung up.

Have received 4 calls today alone, 2 yesterday.  Asked about our computer and I told them to stop calling.  Indian gentleman as well and it has been the same one each time.

I have been receiving countless calls from this number for weeks now. I finally answered and when I wasn't the person they wanted I was called a f*****g b***h. Then later in the same night another call came from that number and when I asked to be placed on their "no call" list, I was cursed at again! Both callers had Indian accents.

I have received 4 calls from these people today. It is CLEARLY a scam of some kind.  They keep telling me different stories every time about something is wrong with my Windows computer.  Then it was I have infected files on my hard drive.  Its not even a good scam, they can barely speak English.  When I told the lady I was going to report the number and to stop calling she said "Go ahead, Ill keep calling all I want".  

Am reporting this issue as harassment now.  The number is coming up as City of Sycamore.  I suspect they are using some kind of cloned number that leads back to Illinois but there is no way these people are in Illinois.  They are all Indian and can barely speak English, and it sounds like there are others in the background making calls.

yes I received a call this morning from this number if I had a computer and I told this oriental sounding lady that I have no computer and she said ok...yeah..I got one of these calls back before Xmas and the fella said he was from Microsoft and he was selling software that would cost me $199.00  yeah well I have some Oceanfront property to sell him in AZ ..watch out for these scams....beware!!

I just received a call from this Indian-sounding lady claiming to be from the Technical Department for Microsoft. There was a lot of background noise, as if in a large call center. This person knew my name, and asked me if my computer was on. I informed her that I do not believe her, or that she was from Microsoft. My caller ID showed "City of Sycamor". She offered to answer questions to prove who she was. She asked again if my computer was on, and I responded that this is baloney, and hung up.

Dimwit caller claims to be a tech support from Microsoft and has detected a virus from our computer.  I told him he was calling a crime scene were a murder had been committed and all calls were being traced.  He didn't hang around.

I have been receiving these calls for months.  An Indian sounding man--allegedly from Microsoft--asking me to let him access my computer remotely to solve some issue!  

I'm really sick of these phone games that go on all day every day (not just from this number).  I must get 6 or 7 calls a day (unidentified caller) and as soon as you answer there is a disconnect.  I think they are computers dialing until they get hits.  

"Do Not Call" lists are a joke.  I find it hard to believe that our telephone service providers cannot figure out a way to stop this.

Basically, I pay for the privilege of being annoyed by unwanted phone calls all day!

They called from this number at 10pm woke us up. They stayed on line but would not speak.  When I call this number back keeps coming up busy.

Someone called twice without speaking.  The third time, the caller stated that I was having problems with a download.  The caller ID stated the call was from the City of Syracuse.

I received this call repeatedly but never answered it when I saw the caller ID said city of Sycamore.  Finally I got tired of this and solved the problem permanently (thus far).  The last time they called I picked up and waited until a person spoke, when they did I politely stopped him in mid sentence and told him to stop calling me, then immediately proceeded to blow my referee's whistle as loud a possible into the phone then hung up.  They have not called back since and that was four days ago.

The phone makes the whistle a lot louder than it really is so be careful not to break someone ear drum.

Someone needs to find these people and stop them.  I have received numerous calls from them, also a person who sounded like they were from India with a lot of background noise.  I wish I knew who else to report this to.  

It is extremely difficult to find and penalize a caller from another country, so reporting the problem may not be effective.
Your best defense is knowledge ... knowledge that such calls are from scammers!

Modern technology has given telescammers the tools to call you.
Since those telescammers are criminals, they ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The most effective thing to do is to get a call blocker device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.

Google "call blocker" for more information, or visit Amazon or similar sales site.

If you cannot afford or use such a tool, then:
* Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service

* Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers!  All that does is verify your phone number!  And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete.

* If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scammers" (or similar).  Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group.

* Another option, for both smart and "dumb" cel phones:  Assign a "silent ringtone" as DEFAULT.  Then, assign your favorite ringtones to all known friends / family / business numbers.  That way, you will hear rings ONLY from those you wish to contact!  You will not hear scammers' rings, even if they change their number!

Two calls so far today and its only 4:00 p.m.  Both listed as "City of Sycamor".  I let the call go to voicemail and there's nothing.  Yes...they are disruptive and annoying and it amazes me that the "do not call" system doesn't work anymore.  So, I'll just continue to ignore and hope they get tired of me not answering.

I have received this call a few times - the other day on my cell phone while I was out walking and he told me I needed to go in front of my computer because someone was trying. Hack into my computer.  I told him our computer was broke and we were using a laptop.  He told me he would call back in an hour. He did and I immediately called my husband.  Incidentally my husbands friend was currently working on our computers hard drive and had it totally apart.  I explained this and he hung up.  By the way his name was Adam, was Indian as well.  Unknown came across my cell.  I asked how he had my cell number and he didn't answer me.
Now tonight he called me agin from this number on my home number and I told him he called me the other day and my husbands friend was working on it - he asked to speak to my husband and I hung up on him.  I called the number back and no answer.

Constantly receiving calls from this number,

these guys are complete clowns and scum. they dont seem to have instructions for windows 8 either. I had to walk the guys through how to find computer management after he kept insisting i press the start button. I tried to play along to find out the company he wanted me to pay but he hung up on me and wouldnt tell me the company name. They've called 3 times since and they keep hanging up on me after a few steps. I must not be good actor. Tried to inform the City of Sycamore, IL but there website is broken and you cant register a complaint. Thye need the call from tech support

I've received two calls at 7:40 A.M. from this number. I answered today's call. A man said he wanted to talk to me about my computer. Called the number later and got no answer. Very irritating to be awakened by these calls.
