This lady Cathy called saying she was with NRS stating that they have leftover magazines they'd like to send out to business women in Gulf Shores and I interrupted her, told her we are are the do not call list and she stated she was calling out of the phone book and in order to have me removed she said she would need the last four digits of my social security number so she could remove me from their list... I said "are you fu@*ing kidding me" and she hung up... AMAZING the nerve of some people and to think business women are DUMB enough to fall for some sort of scam and actually give out such privileged information is just unbelievable!!

Phone rings, I answer.
Back ground sounds of typical phone-farm cubicle chatter.
I say hello....hello?......hello???
Nothing.
Curious, I wait in silence.
An eternity later, a woman comes on, amazingly pissed off; and demands to know if I am the owner, and the name of my company.
I ask, why?
extended silence.
Heavy breathing.
Serious amount of time passes....and passes.
And passes.....
'This is quite odd', I say to my cordless mouse. (also stunned and silent)
More heavy breathing.

Suddenly she barks the name of my company,  (pauses for several heavy breaths), and clearly very pissed-off raises her voice quite a bit and demands to know if I am this person or not. YES - OR- NO????!!!!
I again calmly ask "why?"
Silence.
Heavy breathing.

My irritation gives way to genuine curiosity. They are clearly not trying to sell me anything.
This is unlike any telemarketing a**hole I have ever encountered in 30+ years, and I really wanted to know why they called me.

I put them on speakerphone and continued working.
20 minutes later I suddenly realize they are still there. I hear occasional breathing into the phone.
Another call beeps through, so I kill the mystery caller.
In total, easily 40 minutes.

My guess is that the caller had begun a grand mal seizure at the moment I answered, gradual full facial paralysis and loss of motor skills rendered her unable to ask for help, ......instead she spent her final moments on earth slumped over her cubicle desk, with my voice saying 'hello?' hundreds, and hundreds of times in her Plantronics headset earpiece. As her critical organs begin to shut down, all she hears is my voice, and her desperate failed attempts to gasp for air.
Wow. I like that.

Same here..."Cathy" as she called herself said she was NRS with left over magazines...I told her great, if they are FREE send them to my house, otherwise I'm not interested. Before I got "interested" out of my mouth, she hung up on me!! So then I tried to redial and it was just busy, guess she was trying to get another poor sap to fall for her crappy "sales pitch", if thats what you want to call it. Lame. Btw, the caller ID came up as "James H" phone number 816-390-8615. Good luck "Cathy"!!!!!! Ugh.
