I received an unwanted call from Russell Margraf 817-769-8481 and he hung up on me so I looked the number up and called Russell back.  It was a Telemarketer with a scam about me being selected as a finalist in some kind of a contest I never entered.  Can we SAY SCAM.  I told Russell I was not interested in any cold calls to my number and for him to remove my number from his call list.

I received 3 calls from this number 2 hours apart from each other and I didn't pick up the first two since I wasn't familiar with it. When I did a woman just said I had won a contest for a home make over worth over $500k and that they had all my information in front of them and that all I had to do was recite all my info to them for "verification". SCAM SCAM SCAM. Do NOT pick up this phone number! They're just trying to get you to say something that could allow them to steal your identity or worse!

Just received call from this TELE-SCAMMER number on my cell phone... I do not answer any calls from numbers not on my call list so... they hung up after voicemail picked up,

Then as I am typing this up I got another hang up call from 916-347-0553.

Yeah, we'll get right on that, since, of course someone from 800notes.com called you AND they're psychic and know which number you're talking about.

We'll all have to scour phone directories from across the globe, until we find her number, and know who not to call.( unless she has an unlisted number, in which case she's screwed!)

I think you mean Direct Buy and not Best Buy.  Best Buy is a retail store, primarily consumer electronics and appliances. They do not do home makeovers. Direct Buy on the other hand is an expensive membership showroom for high end remodeling products they claim to be able to save you a significant percentage on.  The "contest finalist" ploy is to get you into their showroom where there will be a high pressure sales presentation to purchase a multi-year, multi-thousand dollar membership. At the end you get to pick a key from a bowl and if the key opens a door, you win the makeover.  Chances are about 1 in 50,000 and there is no guarantee a winning key is even in the bowl. There is typically only one winning key per state and most states have multiple showrooms.  Unless you have multiple $25K or more remodeling projects over the life of the membership, it is doubtful you will recoup the membership costs in savings.

Robo Call from Direct Buy. Automated call until they transfer you. Live person sounded Filipino but said she was in North Fort Worth. 100% fraud. Hang up on the SOBs. Direct Buy is also a fraud.

It said, "Hello, Are you there?" I didn't respond and it hung up. Received call at 9:30am on 3/10/15

I wonder why telemarketing calls seem to come in groups on the same day? I've been lying on the couch all day with a screaming migraine and had just gotten my preschooler to nap when this, the third one from different places, came in.

Normally I don't have to worry about it. I have assigned ringtones for every one of my 7 kids w/phones, as well as al other schools, friends and family. If it's not one of them I don't even bother moving toward my phone. But 14 yo twins are at kayaking camp so I have to answer this week.

Maybe they're worse because it's spring break, or it just seems that way because I'm watching for possible injury calls, but this was Direct Buy, yes. I was not pleasant. Lord, please have a special purgatory for companies that telemarket. I don't get angry at the people, they need and are doing their jobs. I get angry at the companies and blackball them.

Automated voice said that I "won" something when I answered. Person on phone identified the company as "Direct Buy"... They wouldn't put on a supervisor when asked. Got hung up on twice cause they got scared. They're trying to scam you... DON'T ANSWER!

I just had a call from this number saying it was Diane from Direct Buy to say I was a semi-finalist in a competition. First 10 seconds sounded live but then goes into an obvious voice recording. I hung up and blocked the number.

I usually never answer these calls but it said it was a Fort Worth number and as I'm about to move to Dallas I thought it might have been someone from the real estate company calling. Whoops.

Got this call today 4:19p. I didn't answer even tho it had a familiar (817) area code but wasn't in my contacts. No message was left I looked up number and here I am.
