I got this call today and my Caller ID showed "name not found" which has to be a telemarketer.

Got a call on 5-6-13 with caller ID "Name Unavailable 818 184-1544"
I'm on the DNCL so calling me was violation #1. Fake caller ID is violation #2. They didn't state the company name on the phone until I asked, violation #3. Wanted to clean my furnace. Finally told me they were Indoor Air Quality at 23679 Calabasas Rd. in Calabasas, CA. Since they had already disrespected me and violated 3 parts of the Do Not Call Law I scheduled an appointment at a fake address. When they call to tell me there's no one there, I say they got the address wrong and send them to another fake address. When they have the initial sales person call me to find out what happened I explain and ask for the information on their marketing company that illegally sold them my phone number. They won't so my attitude is f*&# them and I'm glad to waste their time as they have mine. Why home improvement contractors in particular think they are exempt from the DNCL is beyond me so am happy to send them on a wild goose chase. Have read you can get over $1000 per incident if you want to go to district court but its a lot of work and you need proof of everything (that's why they use fake caller ID's). But with the number of illegal calls I get from these contractors I think I could make a living at it. Something to look into.

Did anybody aver got any help or action from Do not Call agency?They called my twice but I did not pick up. If the call me again I can invite them to my house then deny that it was me.

no one is ever on the other end when answered....

I asked for their phone number to call back when I had time to talk.  Every time they call you, call them back  866-890-4314.  This way they get annoyed at people calling them while they are trying to work.

I'm getting 2 to 3 calls a day. caller ID shows name unavailable. Unable to call them back to find out who is calling because message says # not is service. I am on the do not call list.

These jerks are what the phone company calls Spoofers. The numbers are not actual phone numbers and are untraceable. What they really want is your credit card number so that they can spend it out of existence. They are not really in the home improvement industry whatsoever. Even the various consumer protection agencies can't really do much about them. I have received calls from this number and others. I just don't answer anymore, which is what the phone company and other agencies advise

I think that we should ask the NSA (headlines for today: where the National Security Agency is secretly monitoring phone calls) to find out where these calls are coming from; and then go for the big bucks to fund their operations.  Oh well, I admit, I have just mentioned a possibility.  But thing of the results, ROBOCALLS ending! I have blocked that number on my new phone (I am not adverting for the company the sells the phone), but it seems to work. I am getting less and less calls daily.

We get alot of calls from these #'s 184-1544 & 211-3111. No area code, no caller id.
1. How is it they can make a call without a defining area code? I assume they are calling from a PC.
2. What difference is being on the DNCL if they can not be traced or tracked down to be fined?

When I have filed a complaint with the 2nd number (FCC), even though the form takes longer to fill out than for the 1st number (Do Not Call), only on one occasion have I received another call from the number that I reported.

1-818-184-1544, caller i.d. says california call. They ring twice then hang up. When I call back regarding says sorry call can not be completed.   The call 1-2 times a week.(6-25-13)

Just got the call - blocked their future calls.

I think these telemarketers are getting desperate.  Everyone is buying call blocking phones and/or call blockers.

For my home line, I recently got the new Panasonic phone that blocks 250 calls...this number is now on it.

For my business line, I got the Digitone Call Blocker (Amazon).  The Digitone and the similar T Lock Pro 2 are wonderful in that they can block entire area codes as well as individual numbers.  Currently, I have 34 area codes blocked.

When an 'Out of Area' or 'Private' call comes in they are BLOCKED!  When a blocked call comes in, my phones do not even ring.  Also, these new phones and blockers are inexpensive.  

Buy a call blocker or blocking phone...they work.
