- Sam| 3 repliesthe caller 8182511713 called my cell phone number. they left me a voice mail saying it was a business matter, and i had to call them back. That is all they left. They did not tell me what the business was and what they wanted, so i didn't call back.
- RobertGot a message saying it was an important matter. They talked through my answering machine message so it was a robo call. Almost certainly spam.
- VikkiI received a call from this number that just said "Hi this is Aubrey, please call me back" - I assumed it was just a wrong number, but now it may have been a robo-call
- harrassedThis caller called and it was a recording saying I must call them back.

- marie meripolLA Times sent collection notice after I called to discontinue service. Their service reps are incompetent and don't seem to understand English!
- SamThey just called me and I called back and got an answering machine with the name Anthony Smith. If it's a debt collector, do they usually don't have a robo voice call? Now I'm worried my identity has been stolen because my license and credit card, etc were stolen. I'm so sick of scams and bad people. I don't trust anything like this now. It feels like a scam to me.

- MaeID said Caine Weiner -- I answered. He said he was a contractor and could do ... He asked if there was anything I wanted done. Told him "not by him" & hung up
- BStated this was urgent business matter in message. Called number back and was a voicemail for Anthony Smith. I also had a 3 month trial with the LA Times and cancelled, so i'm guessing from the comments above that this is who it is.
- Caller: LA TImes
- traKeep calling on my cell and says it is urgent that I return the call. Dosn't say what it is for, no name, no other info. I added the number on the Reject Call list.
- LALawyer"Ayisha" called from this number stating "This is Ayisha, please call me back at 818-251-1713." That is it. I called back and got the voicemail of "Anthony Smith." But it is a debt collector on behalf of the LA Times newspaper. Please also be clear that this number also attempts to collect on debts that are non-existent. For instance, we stopped our delivery of the crap-tacular LA Times. 6 weeks go by with no newspaper, and then we start getting these stupid calls. So they're trying to collect a debt that DOES NOT EXIST. They try to get your credit card #. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM! Apparently this is the only way LA Times can stay in business now that they don't have many real journalists on staff anymore.
Also-this company is violation of the Federal Consumer Protection Act: USC 807,
(11) They must disclose in the initial oral communication with you the consumer that they are a debt collector, are attempting to collect a debt and that any information obtained will be used for that purpose.
If they did that to you...left a voice mail without stating they are a debt collector, save the voicemail and sue them in small claims court.- Caller: "Pitney Bowes"

- Caine & Weiner employee| 1 replyI work with Caine & Weiner. The accounts are transferred to us from the LA Times. They employ us to collect on their behalf. Please understand when I tell you I can care less about your credit card or check information. I don't want to call you just as much as you don't want to be called. I am taking a payment for the LA times, after I hit ENTER in the computer, I cannot even see your payment information anymore. We are not a fraudulent company we are legit. The balances that we collect are past due and if you feel they aren't owed that is something you need to take up with THE LA TIMES NOT US. WE ARE JUST DOING OUR JOB AND WE DO NOT STEAL YOUR PAYMENT INFO. WE ONLY CHARGE THE CARD OR ACCOUNT FOR THE AMOUNT YOU AUTHORIZE.
