received same call....They show up on caller ID as 0000000000 and have an automated recording requesting a call back asap.  Problem is if it goes to voicemail you never get the entire number.  I'm assuming it's credit related, but seeing as I have a 740 FICO average I'm not going to worry about it.

The call comes in as 0000000000 & if you don't answer the phone call there isn't a message that is left.  If you answer the phone call it says that you need to call back about a very important matter & leaves the phone #.  I have continued to get calls & haven't as of yet decided if I'm going to call back.  Although I don't think they will stop calling if I don't.

I received the same call in Omaha.  I reported it to the Omaha Police and they now have it on file as a fraud case.  They said not to answer these calls.

They are very aggressive and even after given them several pieces of information they claimed they never called my house.  I talked to http://www.caine-weiner.com/about/client-service-managers.php?bio=lou.wills  who had the gall to insuate i had PMS.  Typical collection - trying to feel you about about their bad records.

Received a call from the phone # 818-251-1788 lady names Patricia Malki aka Pat Malki claims she is from Ashford university. I told I could not talk because I am trying to settle my toddler down. She then became rude and said I need to get my household under control. I said '' excuse me'' who do you think you are talking to? she then says '' I am talking to you''! I  then said well you about to talk to the click dial tone! and I hung up. I then called the # back ( from caller Id) and she said hello? she didn't state the name of the company or anything. So I googled the phone # and it is a land line not a business line. I don't know who these people are but I won't be answering from that number again.

Just received a call from Caine Weiner. They are so rude.I have received two calls from them. The first caller held the phone and then shouted obsenties into my phone. The secind caller was even worst!!! I tried to explain to the caller that I was not the person in question. She started ranting that  I owed Ashford University .She insisted that I would pay and that it would be on my credit report! I called Ashford University and found out that there is a student with the same  name. However, the date of birth and SSN didn't match! These callers need to be reported to the Better Business Bureau!

Scammer claiming to be a debt collector.

The scam works like this.  They claim you have an outstanding or unpaid debt.  Doesn't matter if it is real, fake or an old one or one you may have paid off.  They then record the phone call.  As soon as you even remote acknowledge the debt, you are now legally obligated to pay it!   This is a 100% legal scam!!  That's why no one can do anything about them.

I did not answer and no voice mail. I never went to Ashford. My student loan holders were given notice over a month ago that there was a review to dismiss all my student loans due to unemployability because of disability. This week the U.S. Dep. of Education did a permanent doscharge. Next time I will answer and have fun wasting their time.

Got a call form this number and they said they were patricia malki saying she was from Caine Weiner and was a debt collector.  It was a voicemail so I didn't speak to her.  I have excellent credit, just checked my report to make sure there wasn't an erroneous report.  I don't owe money to anyone.  Must be a scam but it's very unnerving.  Hwo do you stop these people from getting your information?

if people would just take care of their debts then they wouldn't have to be placed into collections.

That wouldn't matter to you. You're a fraudulent debt collector. Invalid/Bogus debt. That's the name of the game. You might like to call it Junk debt. It doesn't matter, it's trash. Buy it cheap, turn a buck. Pay the stooges chump change, go to the bank. $200 LLCs & UPS "Suites". Rent by the month & $10k "Portfolios".
Life in the fast lane; while everything, right down to the shirt on your back, is paid for by the week.
    Skeff Ett Liv!

That you are the perfect example of what you just posted.  You certainly must have gotten a call from them, which means you didn't pay a debt, so it was placed in collections.  After all, what other reason would you have to be here?
