I received a call from someone claiming to be an officer for the irs he said if I didn't pay them money that was owed he would have no choice but to issue a warrant these people r full of [***] I called San Antonio police and they said not to pay them a dime, they're a bunch of scammers they called me month ago and then again today

Indian sounding speaker(outsource) left message for me or my attorney to return his call promptly otherwise I would hear from the IRS...

These are criminal extortionists operating in overseas boiler rooms using VOIP to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

If you get what you suspect is a scam call, report it to TIGTA through its Web site or call 800-366-4484.

Got the exact same call a few minutes ago...have it recorded on my voicemail. Heard people talking and giggling in the background. What a bunch of A**HOLES.

Claimed he was the irs till i kept asking how do i know you are the irs. When i told him my brother is a police officer he called me a [***] and hung up on me.

This is a scam caller and I would love to know how they got my cell phone number in the first place.  I have blocked them, but sure wish we could stop them.

Said in a thick accent he was a law officer at a police station and needed to contact me on urgent business and if I did not contact him there would be consequences.

I just received a similar message. For mine, he said, "You need to call back. I am the police. If you do not call, then best of luck to you." Ok??? If you're going to scam me, at least try harder.

I had this individual call me and had a very thick accent, answered the phone "Internal Revenue Service, this is Officer Eric Foster, told him I received a message from this number and wanted to know what it was about, he asked for my #, told him he should know it, he just called me, he asked for my name, told him he should know that too, he hangs up on me. I called back, again asked what they wanted, he got irate, said couldn't do anything unless I gave them my info. He got even more irate and told me to suck his d***, then he hung up, lol. I knew of the scam from Facebook so it was kinda funny messing with him. Just wait til next time......

Mins. To arrest me, then hung, I tried to call back to (F) with him , but no answer.

I got a call from this number today. It sounded suspicious so I did not call back. Glad I didn't now.

Received 23 calls from this number.  Stated he was Mark from the IRS and I had committed fraud on my taxes.  Told me if I did not pay or have my attorney got in touch with him he would have a warrant for my arrest issued.  Needless to say I realized this was a big scam and gave him a cussing like he had never heard before coming from a women.  He never asked for my social security number - all he wanted was to verify my phone number.  WTF. Turned my husband loose on him and the cussing I gave him was nothing to what my husband did. What a scam!!!!!!!

i received a voice mail from this number.. it's a man with an indian accent telling me that if i don't call or my attorney doesn't call then it will be out of his hands.. he never even said where he was supposed to be calling from except that he was an officer... needless to say i will NOT be calling him back.

Just recieved a call saying they are the IRS as well and I will go to jail for Fraud for 90 days not to listen to this guy.

I just received this same call and reference you have here. No request for money or information, only that an affidavit had been filed against me and that an officer was on the way to my home to incarcerate me within the hour. Minimum 30 days jail term and estimated $50,000 in damages.
