I have received calls from a woman with a thick accent this number for the past week telling me that I was involved in a big legal matter and my response was very important. If I didn't call them back within 24 hours all they can say is best of luck for me and my lawyer in this matter.

I just got a call from this number too. Is this legit at all?

Received calls  from this number from a man and a woman with very very thick accent (sort of like slurred speech on purpose) and like above they said I must return the call and they felt sorry if I didn't and best of luck to me and my children if I do not call!! I have tried to call back just for the heck of it because their accent's are fake. I either get a busy signal, or number has been disconnected or it just rings and rings.

Today I did get thru and the guy almost had no accent at all when he answered and when I asked what exactly they were he got the thick accent and said a law firm and he went on with the last of my social and I said excuse me but there are too many scams today if you say I owe something please send me something in the mail. Plus I can't understand you. He then started saying (in thick accent) I I I can't can't can't under under stand stand you you .. I said give me a break knock off the accent and speak like you was before. He said well don't ever bother calling back here again. I screamed if would be nice if you WAS A FREAKIN' AMERICAN!!!!!!!

I too have called the number and actually did a reverse number lookup and it showed some foreign name too. I have also informed my police department about this and am going to not respond to their threats as scarry as they make it sound.

I'm getting a call from some guy with a thick accent telling me I owe a payday loan from 2008 and that the cops are gonna come arrest me in the morning and take me to court. I looked on my bank statements just to be sure and I have nothing from any company like that. I said "send me an email or fax me the information" and he said "we already emailed you and you didn't respond, so we're not gonna send you anything else". He just said "good luck tomorrow in court"! This is bullsh*t because he says they're gonna come to my work and arrest me. I don't even get the point of it or how it's a scam because I asked if I can just pay it back to see what he would say and he told me they're not a collection agency. I have proof from my bank that what they're saying isn't true, but does anyone know what exactly the scam is? It doesn't make sense.

I got the same message about my husband I called my laawyer but he hasn't called me back.  I also called my back to make sure I was reading my statements right and acording to them that cash net was not on any statement in 2008.  They threatened to srrest my husband for fraud.  How is this fraud he never got the laon they are the fraud.

I just rec'd a call from this 818-338-5073 # stating his name was Matthew Adams with a very thick Middle Eastern accent, stating that this was a legal matter and I would need to respond today.  I know this is a scam as I had a Dean Jones calling me about the same thing yesterday from a different # 213-805-2207.  They tried telling me that I owed on a payday loan that has been paid off. They scared me so much yesterday and said some very mean and rude things to me, telling me I was a thief and stole money from their client.  They used the name of financial accountability association.  They are very good at scaring you and wanting to take your money.  I will not give them one red cent.

I did send a tip into the FBI on this matter

some creep harrassed a coworker at work. I will start calling them and giving them a piece of my mind. Is there a way to stop this calling?

an individual with a very very deep Mid Eastern accent also called my cell phone a few times and said that if i did not return his call this very minute that all he could say was "I wish you good luck as the situation unfolds on you and best of luck for your kids".  The last word I couldn't quite make out, I played it over and over again and it did sound like "kids". Then another call came at my work phone I got so scared, I got chills and had to leave my work.

I got a call like this from 818-338-5073 for the last few days, leaving me messages, rude and ugly messages with foreign accent. I called back and said they were going to arrest me at my work tomorrow and a team of legal officials were coming tomorrow also. He would not say who he was with or what it was about? Just kept saying it was the crime division. It is horrible, i know i have done nothing so i dont know what its for and what they want?

jUST RECIEVED THE SAME CALL ON FRIDAY 6/19/09 the message was threatening..and rude.. I called the number back and spoke to a man with a heavy accent..and he said he was a attorney I asked what company..he said "he could not give me that info." He also said I was going to be arrested for not paying back a payday loan..I asked from what company? He replied " I can't give you that info, conflict of interest" He then read me this legal document and told me not to interupt him.. I didn't understand a word he said with his accent. He said "tomorrow you will get served & monday you will go to jail" I kept saying.. "I didn't do anything wrong" he said all the fees would be $5,000 .. he said "you will see" and hung up..in the back ground were loud people talking with strong accents as well.I called the payday co. that I had paid off..they wanted the phone number to pass to the legal department, and I called my payroll dept at work and gave them a heads up they will contact me if they get anything suspicious...the worst part of it all was he really scared me..

I received the same call at work this past Friday from the same number, same rude person, with the same heavy accent. Lots of noise like other people talking in the background. Tried to verify my info. They never said what firm or company they worked for or what this was about.He did say that he was calling from Los Angeles CA and it was a legal matter. The called again to my job on Saturdy and left a message on my voice mail for me or the attorney of my choice to return the call to them immediately with the same threatening message wishing me and my family luck with what ever may happen to me when this come up in court. On Friday his name was Robert Jones, the message on Saturday the name was Kevin something. I couldn't make out what is was.

I go the same call and when I told him I read about him on the internet (which ironically I hadn't) and that he couldn't have me arrested and that I wouldn't be giving him a dime he gave me the following contact number for the company I supposedly owe (818 838 5053).  That number was either busy or just rang and rang.  Glad to know this is a fraud.

I have been checking out this scam-it is huge!--DO NOT send them any money. They may tell you they are with Federal Legislation of Unsecured Loans or Financial Accountability Associates. Callback phone numbers vary like 951-643-4364 or 213-784-5745(check those numbers and comments on 800Notes). I filed reports with the FTC and the FCC. I also called Pac-West which is the phone company that some of these numbers originate from. She said they get several complaints everyday and yet no one does anything about these predators! I am also going to file it with my state's attorney general and perhaps the FBI. I can't understand why they are being allowed to threaten innocent American citizens--it is outrageous. Life is full of enough stress without this crap! If you answer another call from them, let them know you're on to them and that they are under investigation.
