- ScamBuster| 2 repliesJust received a call from this number. Caller was an East Indian Male with a thick accent. I could not understand what he was saying. It is some sort of loan scam. They scammed my information off of a job posting site. I know this because they had my name and my number is an unlisted VOIP number and nobody has that information except the job sites. Furthermore I previously had a scammer confirm they had purchased my info from someone who took it off a job posting site.
- Caller: Could not make out what they said asked 3 times.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- denny replies to ScamBusterI got that same call 2 times today and I also have my information on job posting sites I also get calls from same kind of people trying to get me to give them access to my computer they tell me it has viruses and they will fix it for free the computer is brand new that's what geek squad is for time to delete job posting websites.
- Leslie| 2 repliesI got a call as described above seeking information for a loan. I called my local police (have a friend there) and when they called the number the thick-accented guy said his name was "Sam Miller" from Burbank at some cash business. He got belligerent with the officer and hung up when pressed for a street address and threats of arrest for fraud. He was also cocky, probably knowing that the police were bluffing him with arrest on this. "Sam" also said they got the information from an application that the person filled out on their web site.

Would a collection agency ask you to get a pre paid card?.. Come on. It's so they can't be tracked. If they take it from your bank. You got them. And can turn it over to the police or the FBI. Take a look at the FBI website. Regarding these people. Folks. Don't send any money. If you're in question. Call the real pan company if you had a loan. Or better have your attorney or police. You have been scammed.
Read this:
"It is illegal for companies doing business by phone in the U.S. to promise you a loan or credit card and ask you to pay for it before they deliver."
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0078-advance-fee-loans
If you or a friend need a loan, you really should read this:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0153-choosing-credit-counselor
In fact, the more you need the money, the more urgent it is to read that information!
Recognize that NO legitimate company is going to offer you a loan, without their doing some background / credit checks on you, and they WILL generally need a snailmailed, signed contract.
If you or a friend fell for the scam, please try to educate your other friends. The only way to stop these scams is to cut off their source of money! - @Slim replies to SlimThanks for the conformation. Thank God I'm a KINGDOM CITIZEN because God will fix and destroy him. It was my kids going back to school money and as bad as I'm feeling right now I know God will most definitely punish him.
- CWG40 replies to Tammy ponderThings to remember about loans offered by phone or e-mail:
Loans
1. No reputable lender will lend you money over the phone.
2. No reputable lender will lend you money by e-mail
3. On-line lenders are nothing more than conduits for another loan scam.
4. Advance fees for loans are always illegal. At least in most American states.
5. If you want to borrow money, go to an established brick and mortar lender that has been around awhile.
6. If you receive a call from someone with an Indian accent either a. threatening you or b. offering you something, you know it’s a scam and you should hang up immediately.
7. These people are predators, the calls are not random, they have information that they have bought from various sources and know your financial history. If you have ever taken out a pay-day loan, they have all your information. They know who they are calling. They like to pick on women, single mothers, the elderly and members of the immigrant community. Also, those who might be in financial difficulty.

I missed a call from this # and so I called it back and an Indian guy answered said his name but I didn't catch that. He asked how he could help me and I replied how can I help you, you called me? He asked me if I was wanting to apply for a loan I said no then he hung up. Decided to call back thinking well that was very unprofessional. The second time calling a female answered. I asked her the name of her company. With no reply she hung up. Called back a third time and the same Indian guy answered. I asked him what the name of the company was and he told me the FBI. I asked him why the FBI would be calling me he said i don't know wrong #. I asked to speak to his supervisor he said he was the owner. I said right your the owner of the FBI and he screamed at me to stop calling his #. I told him I was turning him in then he hung up- Caller: FBI
- Thomas GriffinReceived a call stating my loan has been approved. I am approve for $7,000.00, how much would I like to have now.
If I would give him my last four of my social security number we can move forward with processing the loan. He had a very thick India accent so I told him I would go on line and complete the application if I wanted to move forward.
It is a scam as I did not fill out any loan application and the noise in the background was child play.
Please follow up on this number that I am reporting and come to the conclusion that your help is needed to stop scam artist from preying on our society. After all this is 2014 and with all the technology a company should be proactive and not looking at the bottom line all the time.
