i just received a call from a gentleman with a very thick accent..told me his name is michael anderson?? go figure.. he educated me there is some case file on me about check fraud bank fraud due to a paydayloan from 2005 i educated him would set up arrngements to payoff what i owed ..he proceeded to tell me that payoff would be 1570.00 i laughed i said i would go to court..then he dropped it down to 570.00 ed wanted something in writing he said it is illegal to send something out in writing before he actually sends me to court.i educated him that my father was an attorney and i had been educated that you were using illegal collection practices..the gentleman than said the cops would be out to get you and may god save your soul!!! and then he hung up...

I got this call too. This is the Second time they have called me.  The first time they called was June 5th at 7:58am. Mind you, they had called my parents home first so that was about 10 minutes before.  I work for the phone company so I know that they are not able to call me before 8am my time, w/c is PST.  They claimed to be United Legal Investigations Dept and that I owed a debt from Dec 21, 2003 to US National Bank.  The first guy was Paul Wilson, then there was Jack Lopez. All of them stated they were Mexican.  I live in a community that is largely East Indian and Middle-Eastern... come on now.. I can tell the difference. I contacted the FTC and the BBB of Sacramento, Houston, San Antonio and I called to the State Attorney General's Office of CA.  They all told me that it was a SCAM! I todl them he wanted me to pay them $650.00 and was refusing to send me a bill or documentation.  They had also threatened me with coming to pick me up to go to prison, which I know the can't.  They haven't even filed a lawsuit against me. I got the call again today This time from Joseph Newman, who also stated he was Mexican.  So I asked him in Spanish if he spoke English and he had no idea what I said to him.  Kept telling me to speak English. I told him he needed to stop calling me until I receive a written billing or documentation by US Postal Mail. He told me that he can't send me paperwork until I paid the bill.  I told him, "I can't give you money till you send me a bill" I also informed him that I had filed a complaint with the FTC and CA and TX State Attorney General's Office against their company.  I informed him it was illegal in the US for him to try and make false claims or threaten me, and as this debt was apparently from the US, as I'm an American in the US, he was violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.  He then proceeded to call me a F*&#$r and a F(#*&ng American.  I then told him again to not call me again and to send me written notification of all this and the conversation was ended. Once I hung up, he proceeded to call me back approx. 10 more times and called again to my parents house once.
I plan on calling again to the FTC tomorrow to add to the claim I have with them.  They told me it's a scam and I saw a new's report about these people in India that are just trying to get you to send money.  I think originally they wanted me to send the money Western Union, but I don't remember.  I kept picking up the phone and hanging up today because that will track all my calls on my cell.  I called them back after he called my parents and I just get a recording that no one is avail and to leave a message. They seem to do this in spurts because the timeframes that the calls have come in on are always around the same as mine.  So they must get money for the calls and then make a bunch of them at one time.
File a complaint with the FTC and if necessary the States Attorney General's Office where you are.  They have violated so many collection laws, at this point, I can sue them and get money for the harrassement.  I just have to figure out how to record the call the next time on my phone.  (Pathetic.. because I work for the cell phone company!!)

I just called to the FTC to report the caller again.  I was told by the representative there that the only way to make them stop calling is to get their address and then send them a letter.  Which is what it says on the FTC.gov website.  Unfortunately, they won't give out the physical address.  If anyone does get it, it would be great to post up on this site.  I've found so many complaints for this company online.  They usually stop calling and then will try and pick up at another time. He called me last night like 12 times and called me names.  Which, in all honesty, only makes it better for me.  Since it's illegal for some to curse at you over the phone for a business transaction, any dealings are now void due to the actions of the company.
The representative at the FTC told me to just hang up when they call and don't talk to them.  So I just pick up and and hang up so I can track the call on my phone.  If or when I finally do get an address from them, I will send them a letter and file a suit against them.  I have the call details for the calls and will be able to print them out to have proof of the call.  
The first time they called they said "God help you for what is to befall on you." and "You just wait and see what happens.. you just wait." Come on now, they definitely watch too much American drama's.  I like the "Mike Tyson" name though.  I've had all crazy names.  The moron didn't like the fact that I actually informed him that due to my other half working at a computer company, I know EXACTLY what the East Indian accent is and the Middle Eastern.  He understood absolutely no Spanish.
The representative at FTC thought that was funny.  I told her that I asked him in Spanish if he spoke English and he didn't know what I said.  
Just hang up on them and then take down the date and time they call you.  Make a report to the FTC.  They apparently call from TX, FL, NY and NJ.  I Read and article about a company called Ellis, Crosby and Associates.  The other thing you can do, is tell them you filed bankruptcy within the time frame they are collecting on a debt.  Even if you didn't.  That may make them go away.  If the say that doesn't matter, per Bankruptcy laws, it will make all debts forgiven.  They would have to give you an address for you to sent the discharge papers or even a fax number.  Then you can send them the letter that states they are to no longer call you.  If you send it by letter, then you want to send it certified mail.  If it's a fax number, then you get a fax confirmation receipt.  In CA, you have to inform them that you are recording the call, so if you can, do it!! Once I figure out how to do it on my phone.. I will.  Good luck on your ends.  When I get more information, I'll post it here too!!

I was getting messages from these numbers too (see my complaint for 818-688-7215)  also, there is a 480-282-6893  file all the complaints that you can think off and even go to www.ripoff.com and find other stories from other folks (united legal investigations)  unreal how they view us as americans; like we are stupid.

I got another call this morning from 832-546-129 (that's not even a complete number??)and I knew it was them (been investigating this crap for the past couple of days) so I answered and asked them had my attorney contacted them yet?  they said no, so I said well stay by the phone because he will and so will the FBI...I told them to have a nice day and hung up....very peaceful after that.....LOL

The guys that call me from 818-688-7215 and 818-688-7216 say their names are John Mayer and Robert. They keep harrassing me but I talked to the FBI today about this group and they did confirm its a scam. I pissed the guy off today and he hung up on me.
