Calling me asking me to have my attorney contact them about an important legal matter.  Located in California.  American Credit Services.

yes same with me too... I had a similar call from this number and they asked me the same things. I am looking to investigate it. I think they have wired the called from India. Their tones seems pretty much similar to indian.

Same here, called and left a message.  Could not really understand what he said, very thick accent.  Asked for me by name.  My girlfriend got a similar call a few months back, different number but the same accent saying she was in trouble and to call them back as soon as possible. Turned out to be some kind of Scam, I'm guessing this is more of the same.

They were RUDE and extremely difficult to talk to. Would not send me information, wished me "good luck", and called my ex husband wanting to get information on ME...annoying and rude...BLOCK THEM ASAP AND REPORT THEM to the Attorney General as well as contact your local police department. Sorry for the previous post, I was mad and I called them back 5-10 times asking for their business name, and they refused to give it to me, or let me talk to a supervisor.

Same thing here, they called and told me to contact their attorneys I asked the attorney's name and he said they had several. I just said ok, very heavy accent, couldn't understand and had him repeat it several times.

When I received a threatening voice mail message from this number, I could hear others in the background leaving the exact same message to others! Bottom line...NEVER give (or confirm) information over the phone. File an Identity Theft complaint with the FTC and your state's Attorney General's office. The phone numbers are fake and purchased by bulk from major phone companies. The numbers can't be tracked because the phone companies won't demand verifiable information and most of the numbers are actually attached to phones located in the West Indies...most likely the Bahamas where there is little financial regulation. If they have your bank info, talk to the bank manager about the ID theft and close your account. Tell your phone company the same thing and they may wave the phone number changing fee. Once you get a file number with the FTC complaint, make sure your local police department has it too. It appears they may have either hacked into or were sold a portfolio of information from CashNet USA.

If enough people put pressure on their State Representatives, we can gets laws to force phone companies to verify the phone numbers sales and put a stop to the scamming. It's sad to think how many people pay these criminals because they are scared and don't know any better.

**New Twist on this scam: They can mask their caller ID with one of the phone numbers you used as a reference on an internet loan application. You won't be able to tell if it is them or a number they're using to mask their phone number. I couldn't see the country code (011) until I looked at my calls received file. I received a call at 6am this morning and the caller ID was my work. Being half asleep and thinking something awful had happened at work, I answered. Sure enough an Indian voice was on the other end. I immediately hung up and they called right back. I turned the phone off and they left an obscene message on my voice mail. My attorney has suggested that I buy an air horn and blast them every time they called. She said it has worked with other clients.

I'm glad I googled this number. I had a missed call from this number on my phone, and I was about to call to check if it was an important phone call. Now, I definitely won't. Thanks for the head's up, guys!

I got the same kind of call. At first it scared me, but I didn' t recognize the name or phone number. I hung up on the man and he immediately called back. HE couldn't even speak English.  DON ' T respond to these people and don't let it upset you. SCAM

had a call from this number saying i needed to have a criminal attorney and that i owed money for a loan i never took out.  i was to appear in court, got very very rude and hung up on me when i asked what it was all about  i had to call back and this seemed to anger the guy even more   could barely understand what he was saying since he didn't speak english very well.  i also got a call from a woman a few months ago saying the same thing, i had a complaint against my ssn and needed my lawyer to contact her regarding the case.   this number was 714-402-4296 if anyone else has gotten calls from them.

i got a phone call like everybody else here. i knew it ws scam from the jump. here is the numbers i got 818-857-5752 and 626-802-4523
