This is a phone number in the Valley.  When I pick up the phone all I hear is a fax machine trying to go thru.  If anyone has spoken to someone on the other end, what do they want?

will not stop calling. i read that they call claiming that you've won a gas card and request information to send it to you (although a "recipient" claimed that the caller could not identify him by name). scam... fraud... illegal activity... whatever.

This number has called me a few times over the past couple of days.  And they just called me a few minutes ago!! I too have tmobile.  Since I have youmail, I have added this number to my ditch call list.  So when they call my number they get a message saying my number has been disconnected, so hopefully they get the hint! (So far they haven't) :(

I would like this number to not call me, I don't know them and they are wasting my minutes. I think they shouldn't be allowed to call people to harass them.

Here we go again...same as before... my cell phone rings, the caller ID shows an out of state number (818 area code), so I don't bother to answer it.  If it's legit, they'll leave a message.  Next day, almost the exact same time, between 4:30 pm and 5 pm, it rings again, shows the same number....no message or anything.  Next day, same routine. I call the number, at least this time I get a recording saying "if you are not interested in receiving info on any of our Special Promotions, please press '1'"  I press 1, I get a recorded 'thank you'... Now we'll see if the calls, at least from THIS number, stop...
My service is Alltel, btw, so it's not just T-Mobile.

The caller id says "Promotions". The person said he was John Anderson with Discover Enterprises in Phoenix Arizona. He told us we had shopped at Wal Mart on certain dates with a VISA card that was all true. He told us we can get a Wal Mart card for $200 for a $1.95 shipping fee that a representative will come to our home to collect within 3 days(really wierd). He then asked for. the VISA card number-I told them to go to $*#$ and hung up. They would not give me a direct number to call back, only the number they called from.

They wanted to give me $250 to $500 dollars beacuase I shopped at Wall Mart alot. Said That they needed a $3.47 shipping fee for the package from
Arizona. That I would need to give a credit card type and account number and expire date on card. They said it would be billed when the package comes in.
When I did not give the number I was insalted and threatened that they would report to the credit card company that I did not know how to use the card
and that it would be canceled if I did not give my credit card number.

I have been called 22 times in the poast 2 days.  When you call it back it does give you the option to have your number removed but it may take up to 72 hours.  Theya re actually running down my battery.  Sometimes 3 times an hour.

Yes! They have called AT LEAST three times in the last couple of weeks.

***They had my telephone number, previous address, and name. ***

The men have Indian accents. They tell me that since I have "swiped my plastic card" at Wal-mart, Target, or for fuel then I am eligible for a $200 gift card at Wal-mart. I just need to pay the $3.95 shipping and handling charge for the gift card. He said his name is PETER PARKER!!! Can you believe it? Spiderman!!! But lo and behold, Spidey has a job ID number: 90710, which is the zip code for Harbor City, CA.

The guy then switched me over to a "verficiation guy" who, also with an Indian accent, proceeded to ask me for the expiration date of my Visa or Mastercard. . . whichever I prefered. "It doesn't matter," they said. "It could be any low-balance credit card" and which would I prefer to use. So, since I don't have a VISA I made up an expiration date to see what he'd say next. He asked for my sixteen-digit card number. I told him no because I don't have a bill. I suggested he send me a bill with the $200 Wal-mart gift card that I'm supposed to be getting for being a valued customer. He refused.

I then asked for his company's address. They said they were calling from Phoenix, Arizona and would get the 800-toll free number and all of that information AFTER I gave them my sixteen-digit number for "verification purposes." It only needed to have a balance of $1.00 and would "be cahrged in the next 3-5 business days."

I told the guy that IF he was a factual company and not a fraudulent one like it seemed like it was, then in the employee handbook that should've been right in front of him he would have a listing of is company's address, the company's telephone number or would be able to look at it from the contact page of the campany's website, which I am sure he was on at that time. Again he refused.

I kept telling him that i wouldn't give him my credit card information without having a bill right infront of me. He kept ignoring me saying that I would recieve the gift card within the next 3-5 business days.

They kept trying to confuse me. I think he was playing on the accent as though HE coupldn't understand and kept ignoring my request for company info. Finally, between their thick accents (I kept asking him to slow down because I couldn't understand) their repetitiveness of their request for information and the switching off as well as REFUSAL to GIVE ME THEIR INFO made me finally hang up. I was just hanging out and would've given them old info for closed banks  just to see how far things would get but decided against it.

BEWARE!!!!! I am calling the police. I doubt they can do anything since all it was only a phone call and no fraud actually occurred but hopefully this alert will help others.

    Good luck!

PS Their number is (??) a Los Angeles number: 818 870-9159, NOT Phoenix, AZ.

Got the call last night. I picked it up and immediately hit the Mute button. Easily 10 seconds or more later some guy come on and said 'Hello? Hello?' several times.
At this time I needed to go so I unmuted and blew a whistle I had handy very hard into the phone, waited for the cussing to begin and hung up. If they call again, I will do this again and again and yet again until they get a clue.

I have received at least 10 calls a day from 818-870-9159 on my home phone for 2 weeks.  I generally do not answer when the caller is unknown or dubious, but I have recently answered just to tell them off.  However, no one is ever on the line!  After repeated attempts to have myself removed from the caller list, I continue to receive calls.  Argghhhhh!!!

We are elderly and it takes some time for us to reach the phone, so these calls are not only aggravating, but a safety hazard when we race to the phone (and dodge the dog) only to find out it's from PROMOTIONS!

    Will they EVER stop?
