Sorry but I don't understand your disappointment. This Conservative party behaviour/strategy is absolutely  NO surprise whatsoever. The so-called "Conservative" party in Canada has NEVER stood for the sort of classical liberal (fiscally conservative, socially progressive) laissez-faire, individual rights type of principals or platform that someone interested in their own personal privacy, phone privacy or otherwise, would support. I'm only surprised that you're actually surprised. LOL! This sort of behaviour on the part of the Conservative Party of Canada does not surprise me one iota. It's quite consistent with how they've handled everything. Everything they've done, from putting the dubious John Baird in charge of the environment portfolio (oh, only after removing Rona "the potted plant" Ambrose from the same portfolio after her colossal f***ups) to having tried to make General Rick Hillier knuckle under has smacked of unethical, immoral (or at best amoral) behaviour at every twist and turn. Not to mention that paranoiac PMO, having to approve every syllable uttered out of the mouths of its own redneck ministers. They've been appalling from the word go. This should not be a surprise or disappointment to anyone remotely familiar to the Conservative Party's normal modus operandi. Come on! Get Real! J'ai personnellement travaillé pour RMG Responsive Marketing Group au bureau de Gatineau (secteur Hull), et j'ai travaillé sur la campagne de levée de fonds du parti conservateur du Canada. Je ne travaille plus pour cette compagnie depuis plus d'un an, mais j'aimerais tout de même spécifier que l'agent de télémarketing qui vous appelle ne fait aucune commission sur la transaction effectuée. Le truc du 200$ est que pour chaque don de 200$, le donneur reçoit un crédit d'impôt de 150$, donc son dont lui a vraiment coûté 50$. Et je confirme que la façon dont nous avons vos numéros de téléphone est soit un ou l'autre des suivants 1: nous vous avons déjà appelé pour effectuer un sondage au nom du parti conservateur pour savoir si vous appuyé celui-ci, ou que vous avez déjà contribué au parti. La raison du quelques secondes de silence lorsque vous prenez la ligne est que la communication est activée par la voie de la personne qui se fait appeler. Également, RMG travaille avec d'autres charités telles que MADD Canada, Childhood cancer foundation, Canadian Feed the Children, l'ADQ, TVO, Canadian wildlife foundation, Société canadienne de l'arthrite, la croix rouge, pour ne nommer que ceux-là. Également, RMG est payé un tarif fixe pour chaque appel, qu'il y ait une vente ou non. Je ne connais cependant pas le montant de ce tarif fixe. Je ne peux malheureusement pas m'identifier puisque ces informations devaient être gardées confidentielles, cependant je crois qu'il est important de mettre les points sur les i. Si vous avez des questions, il me fera plaisir de vous répondre.

Quelqu'un d'influence peut-il demander au parti conservateur à Ottawa de faire cesser de déranger les citoyens pour la collecte de fonds pour soutenir leur parti.  Recu appel m'offrant de souscrire 200$ dont 150$ était déductible d'Impôt. Ai informé l'appeleur de Gatineau disait-il, pour lui souligner que j'avais plus besoin d'argent que j'en avais à donner. Sur ce, il me suggéra  un don de 50$  Je lui suggéré d'informer notre premier ministre Harper d'utiliser la formule André Arthur laquelle sera utilisée par Barack Obama qui s'est retiré du système de financement public de Washington. Il est le premier prétendant à la présidence à refuser l'argent du public depuis la mise en place de ce système en 1976 aux E.U. Now you know.

comment arrêter les appel?

Histoire semblable.... qui semble continuer: je reçois des appels sans message laissé sur ma boîte vocale depuis 3 jours provenant de ce numéro. HAbituellement, je ne m'occupe pas de rappeler des numéros inconnus, mais comme je connais des gens qui sont actuellement en voyage hors Québec, au début j'ai pensé que ce pouvait être eux, donc j'ai rappelé... même chose: message vocal "your call has been forwarded to an automatic.. system; the mailbox belonging to Donation Hot-Line is full, please hang up" ATTENTION LES AMIS.... je n'ai pas encore reçu la facture de longue distance, de plus, ça sonne comme la messagerie de BELL CANADA, mais ce n'est pas de Bell. SOYONS PRUDENTS, MIEUX VAUT LE RÉPÉTER!!! Merci de mettre ce genre de truc au grand jour, ça évitera bien des pertes de temps et bien des problèmes inutiles!

Je reçois toujours cet appel provenant du numéro 1-819-483-9679, et qui fait partir automatiquement nom télécopieur, sans jamais recevoir de documents, celadevient agréssant.  Y-a-t'il un moyen d'y mettre fin.  Pour ce qui est de la maison c'est souvent 111-222-3334, je repond, mais  il n'y a personne au bout du fils

J'ai reçu un appel cet après-midi.  un certain Éric du parti conservateur. Ils veulent des fonds pour leur parti.  Ils demandent un minimum de 200$ en t'assurant que 150$ va nous revenir en impôt.  Ils voulaient mon numéro de carte de crédit, j'ai refusé.  On va m'envoyer des papiers par courrier.  Je vais en savoir plus.

Hi, I work in an RMG office, i'd like to keep the location confidential.

The most effective way to get off these lists is to mimic a call where the marketer would assume your someone of higher power in our own company, so why not just walk them through how they're gonna code their own call, they might assume your head office listening into their calls and testing them...

I assure they will take you off the list if you tell them this exact line...

"I would like you to go to your terminate menu, go to refusal, then code me as an X-13 or an X-20, thank you"

Which are call codes for "do not call all clients".

You could quite simple state take me off the list... but it wouldn't shock them as much as walking them though their own call codes, give it a whirl on the next rmg call...

Id like to clarify one thing, these calls are not from the Conservative party, it's just some telemarketing scam some low class goof ball put together...

But even better, you can register yourself on the Canadian National Do Not Call list and all calls from telemarketers will stop.

I am a former employee og RMG,and I will tell you first hand that the whole thing is a major money scam. They call on behalf of the federal conservative party, ontario pc pary as well as the manitoba pc party for donations. When they hire callers for polling, that is just creating a database for future money calls, nothing more. Michael Davis and Stephen Harper are quite tightn and in fact the company makes a tremendous amount of money from those who are silly enough to donate over the phone.  RMG also calls on behalf of major charaties, one of them being MADD Candada, whom were involved in the major money scandal a couple of years back.  The charaties in which they call for are legit, but here is the kicker. Davis is very unique in the way he does his business, in the meaning of he owns the charity data bases in which he calls for. For instance, if he had a contract with Canadian Wildlife Federation to raise $150 000, and he was able to sucker $500 000 out of telephone solicitation, the other $350 000 stays with him.  The whole bit about no more than 20% of a donation for administrative purposes is a load of balony as well.  When a telefundraiser calls you in they're telephone script they are giving you facts and figures which is technically donor awareness, hence not an administation charge. the best bet is to donate locally to any charity at they're own office, and if you are foolish enough to donate to a political party, give it directly, not over the phone. The person calling you will try to convince you otherwise, but do not move on your stance !!!

To the first comment up there you're a [***] look on the conservative parties website..it says for a 200 dollar donation you'll net a 75% tax creadit or 150 dollars..they dont keep 50 dollars...believe me its worth way more than that...Ive called the same people on numerous campaigns...there is no way to get off their lists unless you ask for "DNC, all client lists" becuase the own the rights to the databases....if you dont ask to get off all lists...they'll call you next week for a differnt thing...oh and btw as of January 2009 all their calls are recorded so if you want to report them for breaking the CRTC rules by all means have a field day!!

I work for RMG and rest assured there are MANY protocals in place to ensure caller confidentiality! As well as the fact that we have no automated machines like alligations say.

Really?  No automated dialers, no servers with numerous databases with client information?  You are crazy woman.  I worked there for 6.5 years in St.John's and let me tell you, they are scamming money left right and centre.  Remember a few years back when the company wanted to unionize and they came from Toronto to NL to basically cry and plead not to do so, because they wanted to keep a sweatshop type of operation???
