I keep getting phone calls from this number.  Always a gentleman with a STRONG Indian accent.  Said something about a charge around $69 that I supposedly made.  Told them to forget my number and never call me again.  I wish I could report these to the cops.

Called claiming to be from Norton antivirus. I called Norton directly and they said no one had tried to contact me. Definitely a scam.

They have called 5 times today.  Will not take no for an answer.  Female foreign accent.  I cannot understand all she says.  Something about a trip, computer, windows.  I asked her not to call and she will call right back!

This post sounds identical to an experience I had. I DO subscribe to a reliable remote computer tech service and the techs are all Indian so when I got this call talking about my computer security I thought it was my techs calling to do my regular scheduled PC maintenance. So I let let this clown have at it. I was watching everything he was doing on the screen and after a few minutes something didn't look right. I starting putting things together, from the remote app he used to access my computer to the suspicious programs he was running, attempting to show me I had security issues and needed to buy some download to fix serious security breeches. It all reeked of scam. My techs NEVER ask me to buy anything much less from a 3rd party. I quickly dumped him but couldn't get him to exit the remote app (somehow he was still viewing my desktop). This really freaked me and I literally pulled the plug on my PC. Even though I called my techs immediately and told them the story, this person continued calling me back over and over again. My techs were just as freaked out ..and really angry! I was asked to repeat the story all the way up the chain to the owner. Naturally they were concerned that their client database was compromised. They tried to get us in a 3-way call so they could question this jerk but when I tried to call the number that had been calling me, it was "not in service". Naturally. My techs spent the next several hours scouring every nook and cranny of my PC, deleting their malware and putting up additional security barriers for my router. I can assure you, they are seriously on the hunt for these criminals. Btw, I also heard other voices in the background (like a telemarketer room) so it's likely a multi-criminal operation. If you get a call from this number, you probably won't be able to report it cause it'll be "not in service". But whatever you do, do NOT give them access to your computer. They could be targeting client lists of people who subscribe to computer maintenance services.

Received a call from this number about an two hours ago on my cell phone while out and about running some errands.  Somewhat thick accent.  Believe he said his name was Mark from some computer tech company (Think he said some company name but couldn't make it out) and that I had paid sometime ago (said an amt but couldn't make out amt) and I had a computer check due and there were several Windows updates that were needed (along with some other stuff).   I did have a subscription to a tech company in which they would call once a month and run a check on my computer.  This subscription expired in the Spring and have not heard from them since and thought something didn't sound right.  Told him to call back next week.  I am so thankful I checked this out.  Thanks ya'll for the info and heads-up.  Now will be prepared if/when this guy on one of his minions calls back.

Did a image search and followed the link to photobucket - my computer locked up and had a "ribbon" across the page saying my computer was being hacked and said to immediately call a 855 number - they had strong indian accent - told them it sounded suspicious and wanted to talk to an American - they wouldn't so I hung up and turned computer off - it took 2 or 3 panicked attempts to shut it down - 823 number called back wanting to assist me -sounded more American - I told him I took care of it and my computer was fine now - I then called my windows service line and they checked the number - they had no results going to the site so they called the 855 number and got threw - and said they started asking for credit card numbers then realized they were being set up and hung up on the windows tech - windows reset my computer and reassured me windows security system prevented them from accessing any info -
