Possible Scam # off craigslist postings or cycle trader

Definitely a scam just caught him, with Paypal. Called on a AD post on craigslist or atv trader.

He/she wanted one of my snowmobiles an seemed like he did not know what he was talking about, wanted to use pay pal then when asked how he was going to pick up would not say. I then looked up his number online and found out that the number had a bad reputation so then i started to mess with him/her. I told them that i needed a little more money to pay off the loan, he then asked how many i had for sale so I upped the number to 5 for sale, then he/she said they needed four. Something wrong here! I did not trust it. Item was around $150 if this helps any one. Also one ad said that they called and it is a recording.

I'm playing the game now. Selling an item online and have just asked how this person planned to pick up the item. At least they have done their homework and are claiming to be from the area code location of North Carolina.  It's just so frustrating.   The number has a recorded message.

I have a motorcycle for sale on recycler and with in 8 hours started getting text messages from this number. He asked Do you still have the motorcycle? I asked which one and who is this. My name is justin asking about the big bike on ksl, I asked ksl ?? He said cycletrader i mean.  Hmmm not too bad,so are you the first owner and why are you selling it? Okay am fine with the price and condition so am ready to pay today via pay pal. I am in Lneoir NC. Now this sounds fishy ......

This has to be the dumbest crook in the world.  "Crook" tries to "buy items" without finding out any information about the product, which in turn makes their delivery horrible:)  I have no experience with this what so ever and I found it obvious from "crook's" opening statement, that this wasn't legit.

I honestly had some fun with them before blocking the number, because they deserved it.
I wish I could give them a hug.  It makes me sad that humans are willing to do this to other humans.  I wish their was a better way to educate the ignorant and bitter of morality and ethics.

Called me a "[***]" after I told them they were a scam. This low-life has texted me twice about the same item using different phone numbers but the same verbiage.

I have a motorcycle listed on Cycle trade. A man from the above number has been texting me about buying my bike. He said the exact same thing as the post below. The exact thing... GRRRRRRRR!!

I'm texting with him NOW and he sent me the exact text he sent you, What is he hoping to gain by this?

Selling a motorcycle on Craigslist. Started getting these messages, with the exact same language as listed above! Refuses to pay via any method but Paypal, makes a point of talking about how secure it is.

He's trying to buy my V-Strom in NJ. I told him to call me live and he said he can't as he's "on duty".  He should be hung by his balls!

I have had a motorcycle for sale on both Craigslist and Cycletrader. Apparently, that is a favorite 'hunting ground' for this operation. Text message reads, "Hello do you still have the motorcycle?"  I did not respond.

Yep, same thing for me.  Wants to buy my motorcycle and wants to pay with paypal.  My response.  Cash only!  In person.  

Is there a way to report the number to the local police?  

happened to me today on my add with cycle trader this person is still at it. texted and used the same lines and wanted to pay with PayPal.
also watch out for people texting you and wanting you to reply to a gmail account, I think they are working together because shortly after I replied this number started texting me.

july 11,2014...this person,sgt Justin started texting me on 7/10/2014 about my motorcycle...he will not call me, wants to use paypal,I refused to do that but I was willing to seek other methods..I tried to call ,got voice mail...to many unanswered questions that make me suspicious...I am going to stop transaction...nonthing legal has been done..this area code is near Ashville ,North Carolina..but these days it could be rerouted...as you all know

At it again. Don't waste your time with this person.  Do Not respond.

Something told me to google the number.  Glad I did my m/c wasn't on cycle trader for and hour and I got a text "Hello do you still have the motorcycle"

I said make me an offer.  His/her reply I'm not good at this buddy...............ok whatever

My next line to him is full cash only.  I am in law enforcement and do financial invests.............we will see what he says to that...........LOL

Same number just text me today wanting my motorcycle. Wanted to pay PayPal and was gna find way to pickup after he paid. Don't you usually worry about finding a way to pick it up before you pay. What a sore loser. Get a job bro!!
