- Katie| 4 repliesAnother call about someone having a case pending against someone at this number. These people aren't even sure they have a correct phone number and yet they give out the persons name they are looking for. That seems to be an invasion of privacy.
- Call type: Debt collector
- ChrisSame here. Got a voicemail telling me the name of the person they are looking for and saying they will represent. I'm not that person Privacy much?

- Lars| 1 replyMy father took the call. Claimed I owed $15,000 and were going to sue me. Did not have much information on me, such as my DOB. At the end of the call, they appeared to be willing to drop the suit and settle for $500.

- Anna| 4 repliesI have received a couple calls from a Liz at 602-301-4700, she leaves a message to call her back at 831-275-5959. She has never once identified her company just by first name only. I called the 831 number back and the first call was answered very quickly with "will you hold" I had not time to answer, I was placed on hold with music playing. After 10 minutes of being on hold, I hung up. A couple hours later I decided to try again. My call this time was answered by a John. I asked the company's name. He replied "Klause and Associates". I asked if this company was a debt collection company. He wouldn't answer and said that he was in a different division than Liz and that he would transfer me over to her division. Before he transferred me I again asked if he was a debt collection company and told him that under law that if they were they should identify themselves as being one. He again said the he worked in a different division than Liz and transferred me. Again after a 10 minute hold with music I hung up and never called back. Anyone have any information on this "Klause and Associates"? I googled them but cannot find anything.

- Linda| 4 repliesJust got a message from "Kim Preston" who is telling me she's been sent a fax message and has been retained to serve me with documents in my civil case pending against me. The message says to call 831-275-5959 and reference a particular case number. As far as I know, there are no civil cases pending against me, although there is another person in this state with the same first and last names but different middle initial, and she did owe some money. It took me quite a while to get the collection agency off my tail on that one, but I was finally successful, and that was several years ago. Anyway, I'm not going to call them back.

- maria| 1 replyI keep getting calls from this number, they want me to call or they will show up to my work or home address, but don't even have that information because they are not given me the information

- crazylou replies to LindaIt's a scam and the case numbers they give are fake.
- crazylou replies to Lacy| 1 replyAny legitimate debt collector has to notify you in writing that you have a debt with them, these people are fake and trying to scam people, let alone they have to file their suit against you in the state and county you live in. All your information is public record, including debts that are paid off and these kind of people will try and scam anybody they can, report these people to your attorney general.
- crazylou replies to mariaIt's all a scare tactic to try and get you to give them information. Tell them to [***] and that you've reported them to your attorney general and the fbi.
- crazylou replies to LarsThe fact that they were willing to settle a so called $15,000.00 debt for 500.00 tells you it's a total scam.
- PaigeI too get a prerecorded voicemail from Kim Preston saying she has a fax order - good for her! A fax order from who?! If someone was filing a civil suit against me - I think I would know and I would get something in the mail - not a threatening phone call - just because someone calls u on the phone and threatens u to pay or else doesn't mean u owe them a dime. Tell them u want something in writing! Ask for their address so u can send them a letter! They won't give u their address because the aré not legít -- they are a bunch of scammers!!!

- Melissa| 3 repliesJust got the same call as above. "Kim Preston" has been a busy lady.... But seeing as how her job is a pre-recorded message, it makes scamming people quite easy I suppose. Thought about calling it back at first, then found this forum and read all the helpful complaints so I am in agreement with everyone above that this is nothing but a scam to get our money we work hard for. Wish I could pre-record myself to go to work for me.....

- MichiAny time you get a law suit filed against you, the party filing it must serve you with legal documents at your door, not by phone. This is a scam if they are calling you to say that they received a complaint. Don't pay attention to these people! They are just trying to steal your money! If you know you owe "ABC Company" money then call that company directly and negotiate with them, not these people.

- Millissa replies to AnnaOkay so according to my computer there are two different "Klaus and Associates". One is under Yelp, and it's showing that there isn't any specific location in Berkeley, Ca and then there's another one in Ballwin. MO and it's SIC CODE is 1751 Carpentry Work, So I can probably tell you that we have all been scammed.
- Peggy replies to LacyI just got the same message from "Kim Preston" telling me the same thing.
- Lynda replies to LyndaToday received a call from 206-430-5383 by a Austin Jones. Same information and to call 830-275-5959. All information was given to my room mate who answered the phone. So much for privacy.
- Holly| 1 replyGot a vm msg on 8/25/15 on my cell phone (how did they get my cell #?) from 559-272-4599 (Fresno, CA) saying it was Kim Preston and she had a fax regarding a civil suit that had been filed against me and it gave 831-275-5959 as a call back number with a case number. I called back and spoke with 2 people- they had my correct DOB and my current mailing address already. They said/allege something about an advance pay I took from Redicheck in a small town in my state that I have never been to. I have never been to that town and never/ever done business with any of those places that advance pay day. They allege I have been in collections since 2011 (event took place in 2010) and they have been sending mail to an address in a town I have never lived in. (but somehow they have my correct address now??) I live in a state on the opposite coast of CA. If this were legit, the civil matter would be settled in my home state, wouldn't it? I ran 2 credit reports day this happened- crispy clean. I went to the bank where they allege I tried to defraud- I had a small acct at this bank for a brief period of time and it was closed in 2008. Guy at bank said if this were legit, it would definitely be on my credit report. Phishing for info or scam? I spoke with supervisor (though I never did get the name of the company) and she said I would be served a packet (at work no less) in 10-14 days and the packet would have all the documentation that is being used against me in the case. I can fight it, "or a lot of people agree to settle these things outside of court." Bring on the packet! Meanwhile, I will be reporting this to BBB and my AG's office.
