I'm suspicious that the person using this is a scammer.
Anyone else suspicious?

Why do you say the person using this number is a scammer? Did you have an experience you can relate?

Why do you think that this person is a scammer? Did you apply for a job?

I definetly think that this is suspicious??? What made you think this?

AND THEN ONCE I FELL INTO THE TRAP AND DID SEND MY ADDRESS,  I RECEIVED A RESPONSE BACK:

company to you after you receive the Cashier's check.

I received the same email and it saddens me that these kind of scams exists...
If you read my email you'll realize what I mean...Our emails are almost identical! It's sad! But I can guarantee you that this person will be found, caught, and incarcerated!

I need to know if anybody has recieved a check, and if so what happened.

I have received the check and I've traced it back or was sent from Rochester PA. The returned address on the UPS envelope was from San Antonio Texas. In the check was issued from a Speed O Motive in West Covina CA. The bank location was @ Santa Fe Springs CA called Banco Popular. I'm calling the local authorities and the FBI about this....They investigating it right now.

Thanks for the info. I also got to receive the check from a top bank in New York and i am supposed to take out 600 and send the remaining amount on to the Mom's travel agent also in Texas. I e-mailed them that i am waiting for the money to clear but i would be happy to take care of their Mom in the mean time. They wrote back and said i am delaying their Mom's travels and that Dianne can not call me because she is with her Mom in Porto Rico and does not have the means to call. Go figure - they only sent a check for close to 4000 to someone they don't know and are not calling me as i requested. I am just getting ready to go to the police .

Hey, I got a Speed-O-Motive check too from Banco Popular for $3,800.  I get to keep 800 and send $3,000 to someone who evidently does not have a phone number or physical address.  Should I do it? LOL  Or should I send the $3,000 to the FBI?  Or should I try to cash it for $38,000?  Maybe I can never cash it and count the time lost from my craigslist item I was trying to sell.  Anyway, the police and FBI will be handling this.

This is still going on in 2011.  Got the same ad from Craigslist - Baltimore MD.  Sad but true.  The check is waiting at my daughters house as I type.  This is the scam letter I received.

Robin Wells

I live in Salt Lake City and I also responded to "Robin Wells" add for the need for a caregiver for her mom.  It is worded the exact same as the others that have wrote in about this person except it says her "mum" is coming from Virginia.  I accepted the job and recevied an email from her today stating that she has already sent the first check to me for the intial supplies (blood pressure machine and Accu-Check) but her "secretary" made a mistake and sent the funds meant for her moms furniture all on my check and that I am to cash this check and send the furniture company the money they are owed.  This just sounded very fishy to me and I googled "Robin Wells caregiver scam" and it brought me to this forum.  Of course I am not going to cash this check if it comes and I will be calling the police and FBI.  Has anyone talked with Craigslist about this person, it sounds like he/she has been doing this scam for a long long time.  Also, please let me know what you have been told by the police or FBI on what to do about this.  Thank you
