- PamThey called yesterday and today. A lawsuit is going to be filed against me. I am certain that the IRS is not suing me. I'm going to block number now. Too sad that there are people, probably elderly, who get drawn into this type of scare tactic.
- Caller: ALLEGED IRS
- Anne Stein| 1 replyRobo call message "you are being sued by the IRS, please call this number immediately 832-241-5105" I know a family who called them back and they were ordered to pay thousands in cash or "they would be put in jail". The family didn't know better, unfortunately, and paid thousands in prepaid visa cards before they realized it was a scam. I reported the number to the IRS (it is a federal crime to impersonate the IRS). The IRS will always contact you by mail with an official letter and a case number.
- LynnHave been receiving several calls stating they are the IRS and they are going to sue.
- jimgot a call from these jokers yesterday and knew immediately that it was a bogus. As one poster already stated, if it was indeed the IRS, they would send you an official document. I hate these organizations that prey upon people like this. But then again, when in doubt, you need to do your due diligence. Why you pay anyone anything unless proof was provided you.
- Caller: IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- JOHN RECONIRS coming after me..
- Caller: 832-241-5105
- Lisa Robinson| 1 replyJust received a phone calling from them claiming they are the IRS. The guy has a very strong Indian accent. Said it was for the years 2009-2011. I informed him that I dont owe taxes because I wasnt requrire to pay those year. He said "oh yes you do". I then asked if they would send me documentation regarding what they were referring to and asked for his name and he hung up on me. What the heck!
- Lisa Robinson replies to Lisa Robinsonugh! The call had me so rattled I couldn't type correctly. Anyway you get the point!
- JOHN BA message was left 8-5-15 saying that the IRS is filing a lawsuit without specifying why. When they call back I will do the same as what Lisa Robinson did!
- Caller: 832-241-5105
- GernThis isn't the IRS. The real IRS is much sleazier than this.
- Lisa| 3 repliesWhy would this robot caller tell me I am getting sued? I am pretty sure I would receive a certified letter first?!?!?!
- brent| 1 replyMan with indian accent stated I owed back taxes. I informed him I was recording the conversation. He hung up on me. I called him back and told him I was reporting him to the IRS and that it was a crime to impersonate a federal employee for the purpose to collecting. He hung up again. I called again and the line was busy. I think he blocked my number! HA I got him! Turn the tide and start calling them back several times!!!!
- Caller: man with eastern accent
- LAs with everyone else, this was a robocall purporting to be from the IRS saying that a lawsuit had been filed. Even if the IRS did contact people by phone, I'm pretty sure the caller ID would say "IRS" and not "Rosharon TX." Needless to say, I did not call back.
- Caller: supposedly IRS
- Call type: Debt collector
- Bill| 1 replyThe IRS is suing me, HOLY CRAP!

- JustinCase replies to brentHope you don't get charged for that, could be a vicious phone bill. Yeah, it is fun, but it may not be a risk advised to take.
- JustinCase replies to BillYou better believe it. Quick send a Western Union payment or a pre-paid debit card or they'll have officers on you like ants on a fish head.

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone. US mail only. IRS does not file lawsuits. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of money. IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail. - MSFraud and bogous calls claimimg there is a law suit and warrent for arrest if I do not pay $9000 in back tax. When I claimed I have not received any IRS noticed, they suddenly couldn't hear me. What a scam.
