It turned out to be "Avante" - a collection agency.

Every week I recieve phone calls from this #.  They identify themselves as a debt collector.  I will not call them back because I OWE NO ONE.  As a disabled senior, I don't always sleep.  It's very hard to be woke up at 8AM.  I wish they would identify WHO they want to speak to by a real person, not a recording, so that I could tell them not to call here.  Of course from what I read that probly won't do any good.  Get a life!  And leave the innocent alone to get on with theirs!!!

We get calls at our office from this number on almost a daily basis (they're calling an employee of ours).  The name always changes (the latest is Derrick Page), but the rudeness is the same.

Just a note.  I called this number back, and they weren't even intending to call me.  They had the wrong number--and had only called two dozen times!  And they want to tell others how to conduct their business!!

yes my wife has been getting this message on her phone four days running as of today.  just like sousee, i owe NOTHING.  i will try calling so they will leave us the HECK alone.

We got the same call... same name... same recorded message. We also don't owe anyone. They must specialize in wrong numbers.

Last time they called repeatedly,  it took me a month to find a bill I had paid over 5 yrs ago.
But to settle quickly, they want you to pay with your credit card over the phone.
Be skeptic & don't do it.
Ask them to send you a bill instead.
I googled them & found nothing.

I received a call from ashley walker from this avante company.  she wouldn't tell me why she was calling, what company it was, her name - anything until she pulled up my name in her computer.  she was extremely rude.  she told me that if i didn't settle on the phone with her immediately she would send my file to court.  I tried to ask her ONE question and she replied "I DO NOT have to talk to you about this anymore I'll send your file to court and deal with it there" and hung up on me.  I wasn't even given an opportunity to discuss and settle out of court.  I was trying to only find out about the matter she was calling for!!! When i tried to call back she wouldn't answer.  I couldn't believe how rude she was.

Same deal - I called back, they were looking for someone that certainly didn't exist in my office, much less at my law firm.  I identified myself as working at a law firm, and they couldn't get off the phone fast enough, while repeating "We'll remove the phone number."

This number leaves a message with no details.It simply says there is a matter to be resolved.I went through this before.It turned out to be a collection agency with bad information.

Got a message from Tom Jacobs as well.  Identifying it as a collection call and extremely important that I call back.  I dialed the number and it was avanti. I have no overdue debts that I know of.

I got a call from this number.  Some male voice (no name) told me to call this number regarding this matter, what matter?  I never return calls that don't give me more to go on.  I don't know why they called but I feel it should be reported so I will be sure to do that.

The gave me a name of someone that dont live here not sure is its just a hoax or they are looking for information.

Just as above, purportedly from one Tom Jacobs, and then the number is spoken so fast I can't write it down. But googling Tom Jacobs debt collector got em here. I called them and they said they'd remove the number.

this tom jacobs keeps calling i was able to pick up the call one day while i was home but you could not speak to anyone when they call you - you have to call them back I don't owe and will not pay for a long distance call to them

I get this call every day, but I do not owe anyone.  I would call back if it was toll free.  I do not want to call them with my cell phone, because it will give them another phone number for harassment.

Just an FYI - It is in violation of federal law for collection agencies to leave messages such as these on answering machines as they are not secure and can be heard by anyone in the house. I work for attorneys and I have dealt with this issue before. There was a class action suit filed on behalf of consumers who received messages such as these on their answering machines. I am looking into filing suit as well.

I received this same phone message from Tom Jacobs, they leave one on my answering machine almost daily, at least once a day.  The phone number that is left is 832-476-1739.  The caller ID on my phone lists the number as 832-476-1740.
