Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Got a call from the "IRS" at this number, with a man named Michael Brown saying he was an IRS agent. They were ready to take legal action against me, so to stop it I needed to immediately go to the bank, withdraw cash, and send it to them via an EFT. He even gives a badge number and then a number to call to verify his identity!

To Whom It May Concern:  I received a call from this number this morning with a recording of a female who sounds extremely convincing that she is from the IRS, re fraudulent fax reporting and that a criminal case if being filed against me. I was advised to call the number immediately.  When I called, I received a recording from a man which stated, "This is Mark Brown.  I am not at my desk at this time."  This man has called before but he sounds more convincing this time. Please BEWARE.

Received  a call yesterday that he is a private investigator from the IRS and ready to take action against me and if I don,t cooperate with them an agent will come to my house and arrest me in 30 min.  

I received 3 messages on my home phone from 832-554-3112  stating I was to call him back as I owe the IRS some money, well I called him back and listen to his bull for a minute and told him I wanted to speak to his supervisor, and he got really ugly and told me I was speaking to the supervisor, so I asked for his boss which does not exist and he told me he was from the IRS and he needed some info from me well at that time I already knew he was not, do not give this man any info as he is not with the IRS  he was very rude when I told him I was an accountant and I knew what was going on  he hung up on me. SCAM!!!! go to gigga.gov or call 800-366-4484 and report this jerk thanks

I received one call on my cellphone i answered two months ago and stated the cops are tracing my call, so go ahead and say what you have to say, and they hung up right away. Then they started calling my Mother's House phone threatening arrest and that the house will be taken away, well i told them you can not seize my mothers house because it has nothing to do with me, and second come and arrest me, i will actually do you a favor i will go ahead and call the cops and turn myself in, he was like well you need to stay on the line and go to the police station, he sounded so real almost had me worrying if it is truly the IRS, so i told him i have the police on the other hand and i hung up on him. Called my local police department and said i would like to turn myself in and that i do not want to run, and they looked me up and started laughing said there is nothing against me and that i am not wanted. So after that i went online to look for other people who reported this number, and sure enough i found a lot of websites with this phone number. Thank you all for the reports so that i can actually relax!

Received similar few phone calls on my home phone # that I owe to IRS $4,434 and I need to pay over the phone otherwise they'll send the police and remove my cars from the driveway and freeze my account bank. When I asked more info about why do I owe this money the person on the phone said that I filled Tax returns with lots of mistakes and that he can't send it on the mail due to a large # of pages.  Also that he sent twice an IRS officer agent to my house and nobody was available.. I was scared first but then I made few phone calls and ask if  IRS can take anything from you until they proof to you that you did something wrong. Now I see that some other people received phone calls like this so thank you I feel much better and I hope these people get caught soon and stop harassing us

Got a call from this person stating that he was an irs agent who was trying to keep me out of jail. I asked him for his id number and inform him that I was on my cell with the irs.. He stated that he was sending the police to pick me up. I told him that I was also googling his number. He disconnected the call!

just received a call & left a message telling me that they are the IRS criminal allegations against me!! googled this number & this is how I am sharing this horrific message!! based on what I read, I would say this is a SCAM ---- evil people are coming out especially during the holidays!! BEWARE guys!!

I got a voicemail today from this number. It sounded like an automated female voice. It stated that the IRS filed a case with against me with criminal allegations. Call back to this number to speak to an investigation officer.

A client of mine called to say he has received regular calls/voicemails from this phone number at his home recently.  The person claims to be the IRS and is threatening to file criminal charges.  This is a known scam that has been ongoing during the past year or two.  Please do not give in and provide any information to them.
