- Marie| 1 replyI got a phone call from that number and the lady said her name was Jennifer Meyers and she repeated my name, my SS number, my street address and she knew my phone since I blocked it before I talked to her. She said I took out a loan from Pay Day Loan, and she said I signed it electronically, which is a lie. She said I will be sued because I owe an amount to the Pay Day Loan and they are sueing me because I did not pay the loan. I never got a loan from PayDayLoan. I did apply and got a loan on line from another company, and when you fill out those applications you have to put all the data and inclunding your bank account number. She even read my bank account number and said they tried to get funds out of my account but I did not have enough to cover. I told her she is the fraud since she said she is from a fraudulent investigation department. She even mentioned this law suit would be in the courts of my state and she really talked big about putting this law suit into action. Well, I told her off and told her I am reporting her to the FBI. I also called my bank and closed the account. I feel they are getting all of this information on line and working with people who are taking loan information and then handing it to the thieves and hackers. Hope this information helps you. Good luck and be very careful.

- Alfalfa replies to MarieThis is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
- MemphisBelleI got this call on my voicemail twice on October 2, 2014. No specifics about me on the call. Left no name. Just said it was an urgent call from the Fraud Investigation and I should "govern myself accordingly". I deleted it along with the fake one from Adam Cox from the IRS. The IRS doesn't have to call people and leave voicemail messages. They know where you live and where you work!
