Claimed I took out a 15000 dollar loan. Credit tracking service shows no claims. Probably a scam as a similar ploy has happened to others.

Do not take calls from this number, they are scammers. Telling me I am eligible for a 18000 loan which I did not apply for. I recently did apply for financing at a car dealer, so I think they got my info through that. Ugh.

I just got a call from them too.  A recorded message saying I'd been approved for a $15,000 loan from VIA (VA?), hard to tell with the recording.  I've blocked the number now.

    Scam me? Nah thx
I get at least 10 calls a day from these scammers..they start by saying (always in an Indian voice) saying I've been preapproved for a car loan. They offered me a $5,000 dollar loan for 60months for a mere $250. All I'd be required to do is pay off the balance over 5 years but they would need the $250 up front as a security deposit. Wow,what a great deal! So I'm having a lot of fun with it.i called them back 64 times last night and on the 64th time they blocked my number and told me to never call back. However today they are calling from a different number which tells me their operation is extensive. I can't see how somebody could possibly fall for this especially when a guy with a very thick Indian accent tells me his name is John brown. These calls initially got under my skin and made my blood boil but now I have a lot of fun with it. They will regret ever trying to scam me bc I'm going to relentlessly call them and humor myself.

    Scam Alert
Fake Short Term or Payday Loan Scam

Calls from the following area codes and numbers have all been reported to be scammers.  These scammers use phony number and names to attempt to get potential victims to send in money on fake loans that appear to be from legitimate sources.

    832-900-9137, 408-905-0098, 713-931-3690, 713-931-3641, 713-936-3424, 713-893-1051, 281-404-4394, 512-686-4244, 210-401-3930, 979-639-7900, 779-400-0010, 817-400-1316

The names vary each time.  These fraudsters have committed company identify theft against a Federal Credit Union.

Consumers targeted by the scam typically are looking for a payday or short term loan and search the Internet for assistance.  They voluntarily place their personal information on these independent sites (not recommended) and then receive an email from one of the aliases. They say that you have been approved for a short term loan that is affiliated with companies that the scammer has no association with whatsoever.

Consumers who respond by telephone to the offer are then told that in order to receive the loan, they have to pay for either an upfront fee, taxes owed, processing fee, etc., in the form of a MoneyPak or Pre-paid credit card including Vanilla Network cards.  Do not pay any upfront fees and hang up on them.
