- LEOHome phone rang. I do not know anyone in Houston Texas .... therefore I did not answer. I'm reading that this is a Payday Loan Scam. Unless you have extended family, family or friends in the military, etc and your phone rings and a very strange number is showing, DON'T ANSWER!!! These people are trained in sales talk. Sometimes you answer the phone to a strange number and no one answers. That is usually a robot-call. Telemarketers and scammers use computers to dial many numbers in a short period. The computer logs phone numbers when a person answers as well as the time. These are harvested, "answered," numbers that can be used or SOLD to other telemarketers or scammers. You should also know that some of these, "Who called me forums," are placed in search engine results so the tele's and scammers can get feed back and your IP Address. Oh so you are on the national do not call registry----THEY DO NOT CARE! Most calls may show a US number but it is spoofed (their are companies anyone can subscribe and then they can make a fake name and company to show up on your caller ID). A lot of scams come from the Middle East. Your phone rings with a strange number showing on caller ID. You answer and hear a static interference and someone's voice. You keep saying Hello and finally you can understand them. Then they tell you they want you to talk to their, "supervisor." He will be the confidence man. Tele's and scammers are also using local area codes to make the number look legit.

- LindaCalled me within 24 hours after I had handled a PayPal private transaction. I know that it was & is private from PayPal and my side, but naturally, anything on the internet becomes known no matter what privacy tools are used. The insult was that they attempted to use that knowledge to get an ignorant (not stupid, just uneducated) individual to borrow additional funds from them! I am outraged at this situation, and would appreciate anyone who know how to report such entities as these to the appropriate authorities, to whom we are all paying fees, etc., through our taxes, etc., But the authorities never appear to stop such apparently fraudulent &/or criminal activities, etc., etc. although they are being paid by our funds. To whom do we send not only our funds, but our complaints AND information?
