This number called saying that we have won a drawing that we actually did enter at bass pro shops a few months ago. Knew our name, address, & phone number from when we put it in at the store. All they asked for was age to verify and said someone would come to deliver the check after id proof was shown. How they got that information i don't know, but after researching the number, we've come to the conclusion that its a scam. Someone should find these [***].

As always, NEVER give out personal or financial information on a call you did not make. Think for a moment, what does age have to winning a prize?

I receive a call from the 843-432-3555 number last Friday.  They told me that I had won financial prize on a card entry that I did about 3/4 year ago.  They knew my name and address which information was on the card that I filled out.  They said that I would have to talk to a Mr. Meyer, their senior attorney that was assigned my case and me and my wife would need to be on the call to answer any questions before he could figure our how much tax to withdraw from the prize.  I told the caller that I would not provide information like who I have my banking as well as information like my credit card info and Social Security number.  I also informed that I would now pay any courier money for any delivered check.  It was 4:30 PM their time and my wife was out so she could not be on the phone with Mr. Meyer.  They said they would call me back Monday morning to continue the process.  Well that call has never happened and I do not think they are going to call.  I hate people that get your hopes up and then later you find out that it was all a scam.  They must purchase entry information form other firms that must gladly sell their name lists on entries that are past the winning number or name.  I called that number and was told it was a non-working number.

I just got a call similar to Tim's above.  They claimed to represent the Sweepstakes Corp. and I had won a second place in a Consumer Clearing House Sweepstakes for $500K. They asked if I was a US citizen and if I was married.  Once I said I was married, they stopped filling out the winner acceptance form until my wife was available and re-scheduled a call for tonight.  Curious if that call will happen.  A courier was scheduled but no money was requested.  The caller claimed to be from Bancroft Meyer and Associates law firm.  I couldn't find anything specific on them on the Web.  There was a listing on Lawyers.com but only a peer review of 5.0 out of 5 but nothing from customers so it is suspicious.  Note, no money was requested and nothing was stated regarding taxes.  We'll see.

This is a 100% SCAM.  The person identified themselves as calling from the Meyers Law Offices, and that I was coming into a large of money.   As soon as she asked me if I had entered into the Publisher's Clearing House and I said no, she immediately hung up.  When will they ever learn?

It would have been nice to win Second place for $500k. If it's sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't!

Brenda Wilson was the name she gave me. Asked me the following questions:  Did I own my own home?  How old I was?  Did I have any of three CC (Visa, MC, Discover)?  Did I control my own finances?  She verified my address and said she would need to transfer me to the account executive that was handling my "Prize".   The caller disconnected.   Hmmmmmm?

received call from same purported law firm asking if I had entered a Consumer Sweepstakes in the last few months.  When I stated that I had he asked if I was at work. I stated yes and he stated he would call me back later.  After reading these posts I have blocked the number and will know that I will not soon becoming into any big money.
