Payday loan phone scam.  Very aggressive woman named Gloria Williams.  Wanted me to pay 690.00 now or get sued for over 2,000.00.

Got a call from 844 228 1577 - Nichole - said that a payday loan pmt was returned, the acct charged off, and about to sue me. Suing for over $2000 but would settle for $690

Got 3 messages from 844 228 1577.. From a Rochelle telling me she needed to speak to me re; a case against me.. In each message she said if I did not call them back they would "find me at home or place of employment" (exact words).  Two years ago I did get a $300 loan, but had been paid off... Wanted me to pay $690 or they will come find me

And the threatening messages are not taken lightly

This is a new bunch of criminal debt collectors violating the law in an attempt to scare people into paying them extortion money.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money,  tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them .

It looks like the website is not active.  They are either domain squatting, or they haven't paid their bills.  I am not sure which.

I received a voice mail from them today (although my phone didn't ring), supposedly because I am "associated" with the person I was looking for. Deleted the message.

Called me and said I took out an online loan for $300. It's funny we all owe the exact same amount

Just got a call stating I took out a payday loan in December for the amount of $300 through the company called Archway? She told me I should have gotten a check sent to an address that I haven't lived at for several months. She had my social security number and the last 4 of my bank account number. Told me I could either pay the $690 today or be sued for well over $2,000. She then told me that she could set up 6 biweekly payments of $115. Glad to know this is a scam. I almost gave her bank account numbers.

Keep it simple...if you don't know the number just dump it to VM...my VM just said they are looking for someone I am "associated" with and that if that if that person doesn't call Leroy he will find that person at home or work...go for it Leroy..with all the background noise you just know Leroy and crew are in asweat shop call center...someone's gotta do it and we are probably cheaper than India these days...those guys are more fun to listen to though

Recieved a missed call and voicemail from this Gloria person earlier today. Then shortly after recieved a text from a relative whom they also called. That was enough to push from just blocking the call to filing a complaint with the FCC thanks to the links provided above. This of course was after checking on here to see that it's a scam. I've inquired about loans online but never actually taken one out, so obviously this is bs.

Received voicemail's from Eric Boyce from Stark Recovery stating that I needed to speak with them immediately regarding a legal matter. In each message she said if I did not call them back they would "find me at home or place of employment" (exact words) When I called he advised that it was regarding a payday loan. I advised him that the situation was resolved already and he told me to shut up and listen to him because this was a serious issue and they were taking legal action. I advised him that I was not doing anything wrong and I did not need to be spoken to that way and hung up on him. He called me back multiple times and stated that I needed to resolve the matter with him or they would seek legal action. I would like this complaint to be noted and I will be seeking out to the division of consumer protection and the attorney generals office.

I received the same call, yet they are also calling my family, work and friends number.  They claim that I applied and received a payday loan back in December 2014.  I never applied for a loan, especially through a shady company online.  They were very rude and threatening me.  I have filed a complaint with the attorney general's office.  The upsetting part is that they had my social security number, my work address and my friend's phone number.  It's very disturbing.

This company claims that I owe them money from a payday loan that I "took out" in December, 2014.  I never took out a loan and they have called my family, friends and work threatening me.  The scary thing is that they know my social, address, and work number.
