debt scammers

Don't know who these people represent, but the call as received reads approximately like this:

" Hello my name is Stacey Smith, this message is solely intended for (my name), I have some papers that require you signature,  you will need a valid photo ID.   You will need to contact the claimant's office if you have any questions about this issue.  Their phone number is 844-238-6461, and your case number is (XXX#####)  I will be visiting you at your home or office tomorrow afternoon between 12 and 5. "    

That was two weeks ago, and today she called again with an amended message indicating the she would be by in two hours.  I have been home for the past 4 hours and have not seen anyone.......  This seems like a scam that is intended to pressure a return call.......  While there are some uncollectable debts out there, they are all outside of the statute of limitations.......

I hope these people find a more productive way to spend their time, and that God forgives them as he has forgiven me.

Recently received a call from. the caller ID stated private number. the Caller said, "Hello my name is Michelle Wallace, this message is solely intended for (my name), I have some papers that require you signature,  you will need a valid photo ID.   You will need to contact the claimant's office if you have any questions about this issue.  Their phone number is 844-238-6461, and your case number is (XXX#####)  I will be visiting you at your home or office tomorrow afternoon between 12 and 5. "    I would suggest that anyone receiving this kind of message to ignore it. They have no legal identification to make this type of call. Please be aware of this scam.

Same caller (Stacey Smith)  left a variation on the previous message stating that  "I have been by your home and previous last know place of employment numerous times and have not been able to contact you, I'm not sure what that means, if I'm just missing you or if you're trying to avoid me.  Regardless, I have been instructed to return the documentation to the claimant, if you have any questions you can call the claimant at 844-238-6461, and your case number is (XXX#####)."  

They ID themselves as the Mediation Department of LMF, whatever that's supposed to stand for. Obvious debt collectors.

Other sites have reported calls from this number where the caller has a foreign accent.

Not really clear who the callers really are.

got the same calls as the others from a ( marshall wood ) saying the same things

got this same call today with the same message...haven't returned the call ..the number was restricted on caller ID...but left a call back number of 844-238-6461 and a case#...

I also just got a call from "Marshall Wood" (who has an accent).

I DID call back several times and nobody answers the phone.. just an answering machine. I settled my debts years ago and I kept all my records. I LOVE to call these people back. Get them off script and you'll see how stupid they are.

These zombie debt collectors are like weeds, I get rid of one, and then 3-4 months later and another one springs up.. I'm not willing to change my phone number however, as that would be unfair to me.

Somebody needs to address this problem in Congress.

got the message from Marshal Wood. Called the number & spoke to "Seymore Montgomery"-if that isn't a tip off to fake , don't know what is. Said I was being sued by JC Penneys for 9k. Did some research & total fraud too.

Received call on home phone (which I do not use for anything) from some woman that does not speak clear English.  Message states that she has been trying to deliver me papers and that I have been avoiding her.  She states she is required to send papers back to claimaint as refuse to sign.  Left 8442386461 as number for me to call back.  I called number and of course no answer.  Says its mediation.  I received same call last week with different number to call back.  That number was Arbitration Services.  I left message today and told that I have reported these calls to the FBI, Attorney General, and Local Sheriff office.  

Do not be scammed. This is an attempt to collect a debt that you most likely don't even owe and never have.
