Constant call claiming I have claims against me from 2011. They won't say what but just want to verify my SS number and address. Recording is fake they say push 1 and then someone instantly comes on, but rude talks over you and threats to garnish my wages. Scamers

They called me and told me I owe $700 from a loan I took out in 2011 but refused to tell me who I took the loan out with and they wouldn't mail me anything. Said they were going to garnish my wages and I need to retain a good lawyer. I never took out a loan in 2011! Hung up on me when I said they were a scam.

This is a common ploy by criminals attempting to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged, go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this,  all for an alleged or nonexistent debt.  One of the tricks they use is to call your work place repeatedly in an attempt to shame you into paying.  They also use the “process server” who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

This NRA is part of the Global Scam.  Total debt scam.  Ignore and block the calls.

They also call from other numbers see: 251-301-9797, 800notes.  This is a Jamaican (I'm pretty sure) offshore group.  They also go by the name Atlantic Processing, Spotlight,  Global Solutions, GDS, GDS Solutions  as well as Capital Risk  Capital Services Capital Law and Provisional Risk Services.  Also ITS and IPS and NAR.  National Recovery,   NRA, Northwest Recovery. They may use other  CIDs and phony creditors as well.  Their signature phrase when you ask them where they are located is to say: "they are in Miami but have 48 locations in the US".  Right.   Lately they’ve been adding the phrase “except Hawaii and Alaska.  Just to show you they now have learned some geography.  These people are nothing more than   overseas scammers.  Ignore these people and block their calls.

These people tried scamming me last year and I thought I was finally done with them, but somehow they got a hold of my new phone number now and are calling with the same scam trying to go after my brother now. I cussed out whoever was on the phone and when I call the same lady keeps answering and changes her name when I call. I asked them what is the name of their website so I can look them up and she just hung up on me. You can tell it's a scam because they give the same vague information and make the same threats as before and they are not professional whatsoever. Do not give these people any information, I just blocked them but I'm sure they will call from another phone number soon.

Thank you so much for this information, I had a call from NRA stating I owe money from 2011, thru a payday loan. I haven't used a payday loan since 2004. But he seemed to know my address and the last 4 of my soc#. That scares the hell out of me!!

You are welcome!  The payday loan places, and especially the online ones sell your information or use it to illegally attempt to collect debts that don't exist.  Even if you filled the paperwork out but never went through with the loan you might get a call.

Calling my gossiping sister who states bill collector is calling her for me

They have been calling me and my son the same as above, so I decided to block my number & call them & ask for name and address & business license number.  They wouldn't give it to me & now when I try to call with a call block it won't go through.

They left a message saving they were calling about a claim. I called to find out what they were talking about. They said Highlands Lending was suing me for an unpaid loan.

I received a text from a (415)233-9275 to call (844)266-3799 that they send me and e-mail with a insurance quote and I did not recieve no email and I did not ask for no quote to any company

I received a call from 844-266-8637 claiming I had an outstanding debt with NRA. The rep wanted me to verify the last four of my ss#. Of course, not giving them my number, the rep said he would file a claim anyway and to get my lawyer. I told him that I went online and saw that this was a scam and not to call me again. Of course, he hung up.

So far I have been called every day this week from 844-266-8637.  They leave a message stating that the call is intended solely for me and that it is regarding a case with their office.  They say to press 1 to speak to someone in the office.  I haven't nor do I intend to call them back,  I always check online to see if anyone else have received calls from the same number, and there are always someone who has.

Received numerous call today from these numbers 844-279-7426 and 844-266-8637. I answered the last call and they told me that I had an outstanding debt, and that I needed to verify my last four digits of my SSN. I told her that I was not going to verify anything until they provided me with some documentation regarding this so-called debt. That's when she rudely told me to get a good lawyer, cause I was going to be served. Then she hung up before I had the chance to say that I work for a lawyer, so bring it on.

This company tried calling me since Christmas of last
T year. The name they were using were NRA National Recovery Association. The name of the lady was Rennee Johnson.The number they used were (844)266-8637. They said I had a unclaimed loan. Which I have never taken out a loan in my life. When I call to [***] them out the first time I said I was calling form the police department and the lady said she would take my number off the call list and hung up on me. The second time I yelled at the guy he said to stop waisting his him. What [***]. Now there number is disconnected. What scammers.

This company has called me twice now and my husband saying they have a claim in their office for me and to call back - I Googled the number yesterday and found this page - thank you for the heads up! I have notified my family to let them know this is a scam and I reported the number to the FTC -

They called me as well and claimed that I owed some payday company I have never heard of and that stated that the had sent me certified documents via a email and such. I started laughing and told her that if she had those "documents" then to mail them to me because I never received them..Then she said we don't mail the we email them... I laughed again and she became upset and started making threats and I laughed louder and hung up..
Well she obvious felt some type of way because I laughed at her and  she decided to call back and I cursed her out and advised her that any real company that was trying to collect from someone would send notices via a constable or via the us postal mail....she hung up...lol!!!

We started getting daily calls from this number last week, stating that they are looking for my husband's ex brother in law, which just makes this even more annoying.  I don't know how his name ever got associated with our home phone number since we don't even live in the same state.

The thing is if they EVER received mail at the same address, collections agencies use a process they call skip tracing. I get calls regarding my ex sister in law. I get calls for people with the same last name that are not related, but lived in the same building as us over 16 years ago. I even get mail for them. I send it return to sender...it comes back. I have been instructed by the local mail office to toss it. And as far as the calls, I simply say wrong number and hang up. They often call back and say "Frank"? I say no I told you x times already you had the wrong number.

Have to make it fun to turn them down, or else you get frustrated.
