Illegal telemarketing call to a cell phone.

Some woman trying to sound official, asking for a person by name, not me, and making it sound like I would be arrested or served some kind of legal papers if I didn't call back.

Sounds like a debt collector scam or just people phishing for information.

ok it's official at least once a week I have had two different ladies from this number calling me stating something with NRA asking to speak with a certain lady who just happens to be my sister don't know if this is a collection agency or what but they don't really give you any info on why they got your number it just sounds a little weird

I got a call twice. First time no message. Second time was a voicemail asking for Cassandra Matthews. Which is not my name or anyone I know..

So call them and get your number removed if it's a wrong number.  Why take the time to come on here and complain about it, when you would only get 1 call if you were to follow up and say "I think you have the wrong number".  

I scan these things all the time trying to give legal advise for anyone who is getting scammed or harassed, but come on.  You are taking the time to post here, but can't take 2 minutes to call a company and say "hey i think someone had given you a wrong number".

In most cases, it is NOT a good idea to return the call of an "unknown number".
All that does is verify your phone is "live" to any scammer that uses that number.

If the call was from a legitimate person or organization, they would have left a message in one's voicemail or answering machine.  The called person could then decide to call back, or not, depending on what they found here, in 800notes.

They haven't called me..  But they keep calling my brother asking for me.. They call him twice a day for the last 2 weeks..  What can I do?

Yes, received a few calls from this number NRA identifiers. Very firm voice asked for someone we know but does not live here, never has.  Said they had a file number.  Was very adamant about the fact that she needed to call back.  Has to be a scam.

This is a scam these people are trying to collect money illegally they go by a fake name "NRA" and the worst part is that there horrible at there jobs.. I reported them to the attorney's general and if I receive another phony call I'll PERSONALLY find out who these people are... The company that sells them debt is called "Mid Western Alliance"  DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE!
