I received a call from this number.  The caller advised me that he was calling from the IRS Tax Audit Dept regarding an illegal tax case.  The caller asked me to hold for his supervisor, a "gentleman" named Kevin Black.  Mr. Black appeared on the phone immediately and said he was from the IRS Tax Audit department.  I clarified and ask if he worked for the "Internal Revenue Service".  He became hostile and advised yes and that he was calling from Washington, DC.  I advised that in my previous experience, the IRS handled communications via U.S. Mail and not by phone.  I requested a call back number and he gave me 844-332-5143.  I said that this sounded like a scam whereupon he hung up in mid-sentence.  I called back and ask for Kevin Black and they immediately hung-up.  While I cannot accurately speculate about the nationality of "Mr. Black" or his associate, it was clear that English was not their first language.  I've contacted the California Department of Consumer Affairs and the local police and gave them this information.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

i got the same call. The person sounded like a call from india and can't barely make herself clear of the request.  This is a scam call for sure

I also received a call this morning from someone who said he was Officer Troy Gordon from the Tax Audit Dept.  He was calling about a lawsuit filed against me and if I didn't return his call in the next two hours I would be held liable.  At least I think that is what he said.  He had such a heavy E. Indian accent I couldn't really tell.  Obviously a scam.  He actually left a message on my ans. system since I did not answer the telephone

Exactly the same as Karen.  Call received this morning.  I didn't answer and "Officer Troy Gordon" from the "Tax Audit Department" left a message about a lawsuit filed against my name.

Exactly the same:  Officer Troy Gordon from the Tax Audit Department.   Lawsuit filed against me. Need to call or  I would be liable for further legal consequences.

Just got off the phone with these guys.  I looked up the number on the internet while he was reading off his script and saw that it was obviously a scam.  

Both were Indian men (in my best estimation by accent), second one was the "supervisor" named Kevin Black.  Told me they would come to my home to forcefully collect the money owed.

I sent and email to phishing@irs.gov

I'm not sure if they gain something by keeping us on the line for any length of time?  This worries me.

Got a call same script using name officer Raymond Scott. Very hard to understand what he was saying. Said needed to call within two hours.

He left a message in heavy accent: This message is for Matt. Matt my name is Kevin Black and I'm calling you from tax audit from the IRS and this call is in reference to a legal case against you. So we need you to give us a call back on my toll free number that is 8443325143. Thank you and have a blessed day.

I didn't call back.

My mother just experienced this and she was certain it was real.

He claimed that she owed back taxes and if she couldn't come up with $5,000 within the hour, she would be taken to jail.  Using Google, I quickly realized that it was a scam, but my mother is pretty shaken up.

Just got call from these guys 3:10pm central time here in Texas.  Phone number on caller id was 800-332-5143.  They were in the process of leaving a message about the IRS is in conducting proceedings against my name (but they didn't say my name).  The message went on to say there would be an IRS lien filed against my bank accounts and my home.  If I wanted to continue speaking to an officer pick up the phone and press 1.  So I did.  An Indian accented gentleman came on and identified himself as being with The IRS Audit Dept. and then proceeded to ask if I had a criminal defense attorney at my disposal as I was about to be arrested.  He then said this call is being recorded and said I must read to you the official statement.  He went on to say I owed back taxes from 2008-2012 in the amount of $4,732 and must be paid immediately.  The arresting officer was already en-route to my home and I would be arrested within 1/2 hour.  He then said do you understand this situation.  At that point I said, "I have no idea what you are talking about!" and at that point the line went dead.  

I am just like Jen's mother above.  I knew it was probably a scam, but they are sooo convincing that it really does shake you up.  I hope some government agency can stop these guys.  This is worse than terrible!  Hope this helps future victims.

Recieved an automated voice message about overdue taxes. That with in 24 hours all asserts and accounts would be seized, it went on to say press 1 to speak to an agent press 9 to end call.

Further information: Identified himself as IRS Agent Kevin Black, Badge# 1593A.   Please beware - these are horrible people.

I'm REALLY getting sick of this [***]!  I get all kinds of bogus calls all day long, all times of day and night and every day of the week including Sunday mornings at 8am! Most hang up and don't leave messages, I can deal with that to a point. But just NOW I got a call with a message from someone OBVIOUSLY from India or similar area tell me that we have a lawsuit from ??? (I had to actually look up the number on Google to understand what the hell this person said) Starts off by saying (this is what it sounded like to me)   "This call is for Mock (Mark), this is Officer Experiment?? from the Pixar department of virus? Please call me at our toll free number one eight four four tree tree (pause.. must've forgotten the number) two five one four tree, if we don't get a call in the next few hours you;ll be responsible for the consequences. Good bye! Let's see"
Apparently they are pretending to be the IRS, as if I'm going to believe he's anything official!!

Are you kidding, you understood that!  I actually had to come here to see what IDIOT this was. Have to laugh but worry about naive people who will fall for this. UNREAL!  I've got my fog horn ready for his ears.

I received a call this afternoon from 844-332-5143.  I was an automated message advising me that I had not paid taxes of some nature and that if I did not call back to resolve this there would be a lien on my bank accounts........I know the IRS does not operate in this fashion.  But, I called the number back ..... no one ........

Obviously a scam to get information for some poor unsuspecting person.

When I google'd the # to locate it origin it was very helpful to read all the feedback.......appreciate it!

They're still at it.  My pest called himself "William" in the voicemail.
