This is a major scam.  They tried to claim they were SMECO  our electric company and that our business electric was going to be shut off.

They were demanding $1299.55 to be loaded on a reloadit card and we currently owed a little over 800 due on 9/18

Yes they just called our business number and said disconnect notice was left on the meter.  I Googled the number he gave me 1-844-371-1682 and got these notices.

Same scam.  You owe $1200 on your phone bill.  Pay immediately or we are shutting off your power in 30 minutes.  I asked to be given the number for Pepco (who they claimed to be) to call and make payment to warrenton and they refused but would only (transfer) me over.  Careful scammers everywhere.

I had a call from this Scammers yesterday in Saturday evening, to my Business phone number, they clime to be Pepco "Disconnection department" saying i have let payment of $5000 and my electric power will DISCONNECT in 30min unless i call the number blow which is Pepco "credit department" immediately !
1st, Mistake he did was verify the Business name and phone number as my Account information with Pepco which was not Correct!
2nd, getting call from Pepco in Saturday to tell you disconnect your electric is a Red flag!
3rd, i just know i don't have any let fees with Pepco!
THE PHONE NUMBER THEY CALLED FEOM WAS PECPCO NUMBER(hack the number)
SO IT WAS SEEMS TO BE PEPCO CALLING.

THE BEST THINKG TO DO IS TO CALL DIRECTLY TO PEPCO AND CHEEK !

Definitely a SCAM. The guy said his name is MIKE LOPEZ from Pepco and our business has not been paying electric bill for past two months and needs to pay or everything will be shut off in 30 minutes.  I had my pepco bill right in front of me and told him that I owe nothing and he gave me this number. He was pathetic...

Michael Green left a message.  Said he was from Pepco.  Said will shut off powerr because have not received payments.  I called back and he had very little info on me.  Then said I had to pay cash on a reloadit card from Food Lion.  Then Pepco will pay me back if the checks did clear.  I yelled at him for a supervisor.  He tried to get me to go to Lee Highway.  When I explained that was in Virginia, it was obvious he did not know the area.  I'm from Maryland.  Then he asked when I would be making this cash payment to reloadit and calling him back.  I called pepco immediately.  It was a scam.  The 844 number then called me back as a 202 8337500 number claiming he was the supervisor.  I told him that I was on to the scam and to stop calling me.

I just got a call from PEPCO saying they were going to disconnect our service in 20 minutes.  As I on hold with 844.371.1682, I called PEPCO at 202.833.7500 and they told me it was likely a scam.  I googled the number and this is what I found.  I tried to report to police, but because they didn't take any money, there was crime. I have posted on Facebook hoping as many people as possible will see it.
