- Stee| 1 replyThis operation masquerades under the name Motor Vehicle Services. They are quite rude and they refuse to let you talk to their manager. Mostly they're interested in railroading you into making a hasty decision and giving them your credit card number. Smells like a scam.

- scamed?| 10 repliesI may have made the mistake of falling for the to good to be true trick. I purchased a extended warranty from motor vehicle services before doing any home work on them and im very nervous of the mistake I may have made. I apparently will receive my policy within 2 weeks. lets see what happens? I would avoid any company requesting payment without you seeing a policy first. my fingers are crossed but im expecting the worst.

http://www.usa.gov/topics/consumer/scams-fraud/cars/auto-warranty-scams.shtml - CelticDragon| 1 replySent a 'final notice' in the mail and, being how I am and my natural suspicion, popped the number on the form in here. Wonder how they get the information.

- SandyGot a notice in the mail stating that immediate response is required to extend my warranty. Funny thing is, the notice pertains to a car that was purchased a couple of months ago and has years of factory warranty left. That tells me this is more than likely a scam.

- AndreaIve been getting these notices about every day since I registered my car when I moved to a new state, received 2 different ones today... called. they are rude and will not remove from their mailing list...

- Mike-in-MD replies to CelticDragonApparently they are permitted to buy lists of recent motor vehicle registrations from state DMVs. All they have is the Make, model, year, date purchased and contact information. There is no information on the type of warranty you received when you purchased the vehicle so they are simply fishing for suckers to offer their worthless service contracts to. You rarely get the actual policy before the cancellation date so once you find out all the details in the fine print, it is too late to cancel for a refund. These things have more ways not to pay for a repair than a Swiss Cheese has holes. See the links in Elspeth's posting above for background on these "extended warranties".
- RonnieI've received multiple of these "scam" letters concerning my now "expiring" vehicle warranty from multiple different companies, all with different toll free numbers to call. It is annoying how these people keep sending these mailers out waiting for some unsuspecting person to call & "buy" their extended warranty. I did recently purchase a newer vehicle; however, I bought it as was with NO WARRANTY. What I'd like to know, is how/where do they get all this information about you & your vehicle purchase in the first place?

- SB20Registered our vehicles in FL recently and soon after, these notices started showing up in the mail. Decided to look up the number and sure enough, they're all scams. Out vehicles are all old clunkers and have been out of warranty for decades. According to their letters, we're close to running out of warranty and need to renew it. LOL. These are shady companies. Stay away from them! They call themselves "Motor Vehicle Service", not the real government agencies. The other letters didn't even have a company name on them. LOL

He hung up on me after again telling me good luck with my sons repairs and recalls

- nina| 7 repliesI received a letter stating my factory warranty will end soon. Today was the deadline so I called because I thought it would be a great idea to keep warranty on my car since I'm still paying it off. When I called 18443983636 and spoke with "Christian" he was rude to begin with. ( red flag) They told me I could not hang up the phone to decide, so I call my husband to see what he thought. So much miscommunication. They said we can put a down payment of 395$ now and pay $199 for 12 months. My husband though it was cheap so told me to get it so we can take the car to the shop. I get it. Hang up. Call back again to see if I can cancel anytime if I wanted. I wasn't planning to cancel, but I wanted to know in the future if that was an option. I talk to " Kelly" a male that sounded just like "Christian". Without giving any further info, I just told Kelly I was just on the phone n purchased an extended warranty. He knew exactly my milage to my car.
( red flag). He got really rude and stated " that is why we ask you and confirm if you accept this payment". All I wanted was a 'yes ma'am you can cancel at any time or no ma'am I'm sorry' (red flag) instead he just keeps being rude. Red flag. So I Google the number, ITS A SCAM!! (RED FLAG AGAIN) so I canceled my bank card not even 15 mins later, the $395 is pending. Now I got to call back when its open to see if they will cancel it. If they don't give me my money back. My bank will have to get involved.- Caller: Motor vehicle services
- MichaelI just received a letter from Motor Vehicle Services indicating that my factory warranty will expire or may have already expired due to mileage on my vehicle. So the odd thing is 1) they already had listed that my vehicle is a 2015...red flag right there...2) when I bought the car in April of 2015 I got a lifetime warranty...red flag #2....I called and they put me on hold and when I talked with them and discussed the situation they indicated that my records must not be correct as theirs indicates that my warranty is up...red flag #3....If you are going to obtain vehicle warranty do your homework to determine who is legit and not...get a hold of the automotive dealers and they can help you out.

www.dvglawpartner.com - MSTKELLZ replies to ninaHey just wondering you were able to get your money back from them? I just got scammed by them today and read the post after giving them my information. They are really rude and refuse to cancel the policy. I tried cancelling it less than 10 mins after the call.
- Christina replies to Michael Brown, DVG Law Partner| 1 replyI received a letter in the mail from this company today stating based on the mileage of my car the warranty was about to expire and I should purchase theirs. It also stated my vehicle was AWd when it is in fact 2WD, and do the mileage? i bought it brand new a month ago so it barely has 3,000 miles on it. Definately a scam!!
- David replies to ninaWondering if your bank was able to do anything.
