Customer Service US POSTAL SERVICE- trying to sell to small business

Caller ID came up Toll Free Caller.  Msg from Julia said she was from the USPS & they were introducing new products for businesses.  She said she would call back another time.  If it was USPS, they would be better served by identifying themselves.as such  They might also try a business line instead of residential.  Call  was Nov 25.  Thanks to all of you out there who give comments on these phone calls.

Why USPS call to customer directly?

Our message from this number - "Hello this is Belinda I'm a customer service representative with United States Postal Service. I wanted to call and see how your service is been and to share with you some information about shipping products and services that may better suit your business. I'm sorry to have missed you but I will follow up with you in a few days. We appreciate your business and you have a good day."

I actually talked with her just today.  All she wanted to know is that everything was ok with our postal service and she made sure I had a main phone number for USPS that would be helpful for me.  She did not try to sell me anything.  Call took less than 30 seconds.  Normally, I do not like cold calls but this one was no big deal.

Cindy, a Customer Service Representative, with USPS called to advise of services that would be beneficial to our business. She was polite.

Sabrina called this morning and was very nice.  she introduced herself and where she was calling from.  she just asked if everything was ok with the USPS service and also informed me that the price of a stamp is going down effective April 10 (from .48 to .47) she also asked if i would be willing to take a short survey sometime in the future. And only because hse was so pleasant and polite I agreed.

Usually i come on here to 800 notes to complain about a call but this one was okay

• April 2016 Update! The discounted “Metered Mail” category for First Class Mail Letters (1 oz.), which includes online postage providers and postage meters, will decrease from $0.485 to $0.465. Each additional ounce will cost $0.21.
• April 2016 Update! First Class Mail Flats (1 oz.) will decrease from $0.98 to $0.94. Each additional ounce will cost $0.21.
• April 2016 Update! Postcard rates will decrease from $0.35 to $0.34.

I found nothing under a search for "844-400-877 USPS" that that number is associated directly with USPS. Just because some caller says they're from USPS means nothing. There is no comment that receivers of these calls initiated a call for information to the USPS or if asked what association or affiliation the caller has with USPS under some direct marketing / telescammer relationship. I'd be very skeptical of calls under some disguise of "oh, we're with the government we're here to help survey"

Got a message from Janise...Customer Service Rep from USPS.  She sounded completely DRUNK and/or STONED.  Could not remember her script...asked to make sure that my customer service experience with the post office was good, told me they have a business customer support number for small businesses.  Then called back and left another message and simply said....OHHHHH, MAAAAANNNNNNNN....and hung up.  Then called back a third time and did not leave another message.

A woman called my office from USPS asking to speak with the person in charge of shipping. I told her we don't really ship much and she thanked me for my time.

Caller did creepy laugh and then disconnected

Received call from the rep wanting to speak with whoever is in charge of shipping. See if they could help us have better shipping and tracking. SCAM! Does USPS really have time to contact anyone? Not really. I did call and notify USPS about what was going on, if it occurs again, so they are aware. But if it ever happens to anyone else who  comes across this page, go to the USPS website contact and notify them.

"Betty" (nice lady) from USPS called asking for someone by name that doesn't work here. Then asked for the person in charge of shipping/mailing. She wanted to do a survey and gave some spiel about that they do direct mail - only costing us 17cents up to 5,000 pieces. I told her that unfortunately we cannot trust phone callers now and if they would like to send us some advertising they could contact us that way. If a scammer mails something through the USPS it is against the law and easier to catch them. That is the true test. I can't believe the USPS has hired telemarketers to do advertising. Something is fishy there! On the other hand, I appreciate that it wasn't some pre-recorded message, or the ever popular call and hang up five times a day. I will never respond to cold calls anymore.

I just received a call from this number at work. I could not understand 90% of what this woman was saying. She had a very thick Asian accent and she forgot her script. It clearly is not USPS. I think she wanted to know who does our shipping?

"Peter" called from United States Postal Service to make me aware of their "several free shipping options".  Um...right.  Either he's reading the wrong script or this is a scam.  I've never heard of the USPS offering "free shipping options".   I've also never been contacted by the USPS - ever.

This person said the call would be recorded, to make me think it was somebody important.  Then proceeded to ask me the names of the people who open and distribute our mail.  None of their business.

I have no idea where is call was made.  Luckily I was away and did not answer.

Man identified himself with USPS, asked me if I'd had any problems with postal service and I replied "No". He identified my local high school mascot ("Dragons"),  said he used to live in my town of 20,000 and mentioned the streets he'd lived on, & said it seemed a coincidence that he called his home town. Curious.
