Had this number call my work they lady said she is an investigator who name is Diana Sears said I had worthless checks turned into the state.

Only thing the said the are SCU a state processing center is what they said they are. Looked them up and the number does not show up and the state has no processing center from what I can find. I live in Ohio

I had this same number call me this morning. "Investigator Randy Williams" left a message stating that two formal complaints were made against me and turned over to the States office. I live in Maryland. When I called back I was transferred to a lady named  Lin Fisher, she was practically interrogating me. I have not received any formal documents of any kind, yet she stated that there would be a warrant issued for my arrest in regards to this, if I did not pay the "amount due" today. I was so confused. I asked if they could mail me something, as I didn't have the funds, and was did not feel comfortable with making a payment over the phone with some unheard of company. "Financial Crimes Unit". I cannot find "FCU" anywhere online.

Its a serious scam. I received several calls from this number and I picked up one the calls. I told the person that I would conference her with the local police here in my city and she quickly hung up. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY MONEY unless you want to be scammed...

Fraudulent or Zombie Debt Collectors—Things to Know

If you have received a call stating:

1. You have defrauded a financial institution
2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
5. You will receive a court summons
6.  Authorities are coming to arrest you
7.  Anything similar to above,
 a.   Do not give them any information or verify any information for them
 b.   Tell them you know they are a scam operating illegally and that you are   filing a complaint with the  appropriate authorities
* File a complaint with the FBI on their Internet Crime webpage     http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
* File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in

They make sure to scare you to death. I made the mistake of confirming my name, ssn# and address and place of employment they first time they called. As someone saying they are a sheriff and would spend 76 months in the state pen for grand larceny and interstate commerce fraud and that I had to pay over $900 to keep my out of jail by the end of the day. Said I should sell what ever I had to get the money. Said he would send a swat team and dogs out at me.  

Just find it weird that they called a few days before my bankruptcy hearing last month. And then they called once more after a couple of days of the hearing. Also had other numbers call within the past week threatening the same things.

If they have your SSN and other personal information, you may want to look at getting identity theft protection, as well as notifying at least one of the three credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion) and having them put fraud alerts on your files.

Bottom line - debt is civil, not criminal, so you cannot be arrested for owing money.  Defaulting on a payday loan is NOT check fraud.  And if you were really going to be arrested for committing a crime, the sheriff won't call you and tell you that you can "pay to make it go away".

Block their number.

How can we block this number without paying monthly service to block them?

"Investigator Randy Williams" with the "Financial Crimes Unit" (of what, exactly?) has left messages for me looking for my brother. He stated that my number was in the "evidence paperwork" and that I was listed as an "emergency contact." My brother did have an issue with a payday loan debt (that he eventually repaid, yet these people are still trying to extort more money from any source they can). The bottom line is that these people are violating federal law by impersonating law enforcement. From the FTC website:

False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:

falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
misrepresent the amount you owe;
indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren’t; or
indicate that papers they send to you aren’t legal forms if they are.

Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:

you will be arrested if you don’t pay your debt;
they’ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so;
legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don’t intend to take the action.

Debt collectors may not:

give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit reporting company;
send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency if it isn’t;
use a false company name.

DO NOT give these people any personal information, regardless of what you may or may not owe and to whom. Tell them to stop calling you. Tell them that they are violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and that you will be filing a complaint with the FTC. Then go to FTC.gov and file a complaint.

This is such fraud,,, they said I have 2 serious charges against me, for what is still unknown....however when I inquired the name of their Law firm so I may have my attorney call them they hung up!!!!  Total BS..beware my friends

This number called me and said they had two state level felony warrants for my arrest for a payday loan from 06/2011. Said that if I didnt pay them $3000 today that they were going to process my paperwork. Well I decided to contact my attorney who explained two things to me, 1. The statue of limitations for a check in MO is 3 years which means they just missed that time frame, and 2. They cannot prosecute on a post dated check. So I called the "investigator" back and informed him of what I learned and he had nothing to say. LOL he said good luck and I hung up. Don't trust these idiots he didn't even know my address and of course I didn't verify any information.

A post-dated check for a payday loan is NOT check fraud!

I got a call from this number asking for David said you got the wrong number they said you don't know a David Craig I said no they said okay will contact authority and she hung up

They called me today and told me there was a warrant out for my arrest, and that I could have it taken off if I paid $500 today with my credit card over the phone.  Lady's name Deborah Turner and the other lady's name is Tammy Larson, said she was an Attorney. "or posing as an attorney that is." I Called back later just to find out Tammy Larson is not an Attorney, so if anyone is a fraud, it's them pretending to be an Attorney and not.  A legal rep is not an Attorney, A para-legal is not an Attorney, A sect. that works at a collection agency is not an Attorney.  I think they talk all of this legal talk and using legal terms it has them thinking they are Attorney's now.    What do you expect out of Orlando FLORIDA, Ha!

Tammy Larson called me and would not give me an address to mail payment to.  What kind of business won't give out their mailing address?  Must be a scam.  Told me there was a warrant for my arrest for fraud.  Debt over a payday loan is not fraud.

I am filing a consumers protection claim with the AG's office right now.

they called my phone so then i called them and they said i have a choose pay for 1098.90 and 50% with 549.40 if i not pay to them and i would go to  jail for 120 days as six month .. so i think they not real an attorney ... i think its scam and they was try make me have pay them and make me have scary to them.. so they would like make them or me get pay attention so his name is eli berry and their phone number too because i did check on Google so his name and phone number, company name have no provider in Google. so i don't have get any noticed paper or the paper from court either

I received a voice mail message from Warren Tinsdale and he stated that I was listed as an emergency contact with the State for my mother and they needed to have her call immediately about an upcoming court case. It sounded legit at first because they knew the state and county that my mother lived in.  When I called the number back from my office phone to get more details I spoke with a Tammy Larsen who was extremely rude and wanted information from me before she would connect me with Warren Tinsdale.  She said she was turning the matter over to the authorities and hung up.  I immediately called back and told her that I was simply trying to return a phone call to Mr. Tinsdale and she said that if I wasn't willing to give her my cell phone number or address she was turning the matter over to the police and a warrant would be issued.  She hung up again.  So glad I found website and info when I did a search for the phone number.  (844)434-8904  This fraud and abuse needs to stop.  

They called me and said that they had a warrant for my arrest for "fraud charges". I said wow..I wasn't aware of that. I have nothing in writing. I said let's conference in my local police department and she said she'd do one better and forward the information to them herself and hung up.

Now, why would she do that? A warrant is issued by a judge/law enforcement official. Wouldn't the police department HAVE this information already? And really now, I just got pulled over for a minor traffic violation...seems to me that would have come up at that point, right?

Next time I'm writing down everything. Oh wait no. I'm going to record the call because I can do that here at work. In fact, I can pull the call now. I think I'll do just that. Then I can file a legal complaint against them and have it in a nice .wav file too. Sweeeeeet.

Don't let these jerks scare you. Just know it's a game of threats.

Just received a call from this number threatening to have me arrested at my place of work because I had 3 felonies against my social security #.   This  stupid idiot even called my elderly father, demanding money from him to take care of my case.   I called him back 3Xs and still was threatening me.   Do NOT listen to him.   Just hang up.

Called stated they were an investigator an this was an emergency contact for Jody Billingsfield. By the way this is my Ex-Wife step son. So I would like them to stop giving out my # an then this joker calling leaving crazy message on my VM.  

Got a voice mail from some [***] "Investigator" concerning fraud checks and my social security #. Oooooh I'm so scared! I just block and ignore the call. These people are low life collectors. They can't prosecute or sue. Don't confirm anything and just hang up. By the way Mr. Investigator..... People are prosecuted, not social security numbers... You wannabe turd.
