Said they were calling on behalf of Blue Cross Blue Shield.  Setting up health screenings.  When I contacted Blue Cross, they said they had never heard of them and they had not authorized the call.

The caller identified himself as from Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Advantage and asked to speak to my husband.  When I told him to give me his number (I already had it on caller ID) he sounded surprised and hung up. I called the REAL Blue Cross office and reported the call.  I was told we were not on any list for calls today...wish someone would catch up with this criminal predator.

Received a call that sounded like an India call center. They left a message congratulating me for joining Blue Cross and asking me to call for an appointment. I'm glad I read the previous comments. They call us often, we let the machine pick up.

This call claimed to be from BCBS advantage plan.  They gave a website to sign up for rebates for well care medical services and offered to set up appts for me.  I felt it was phoney and have blocked this #.

Left a voicemail, apparently machine thought the call had been answered by a human as the only thing on the voicemail was "Press 1 for yes and 3." I do have a Blue Cross Advantage plan and have already received an "award/rebate" for a "healthy action, $25 gift card from my choice of many retailers and I know I can receive up to $100 per year in $25 increments for a variety of things called healthy actions. I just received a letter saying they were sending supplies for a couple different home screening tests that could qualify me for another $25 reward. Also can get an award for yearly wellness exam, retinal exam (I have diabetes and Graves' Disease to I qualify for this) and a mammogram. Love the rewards, I picked Amazon gc since I shop there frequently, and I'll probably answer next time. As for Blue Cross denying anyone calling for them, I'll bet it was only the person you talked to that was unaware of the program, since I already know this is an existing, legitimate program and I have signed up on the website and received a legitimate, working Amazon gift card. If they weren't associated with Blue Cross they wouldn't have known I had just filled a prescription for a 90 day supply of one of my medications. If they call again, I'll come back with an update - although I hate speaking on the phone, $25 is enough incentive for me to do so and I have already planned 2 of the qualifying actions. I see no reason to give up another $75 this year. Actually don't see the need to speak with them because I'm already aware of the qualifying actions and have already signed up on the website so I receive the notifications and a link to the site by email. If you want to avoid speaking to an unknown on the phone you can probably receive the information in your email if you sign up for emails on the blue cross advantage website.

I too got same call.. very pushy waning personal health information . Didn't seem like a health insurance company would ask about this type of info: "we are taking a survey of your health info "🚩". I said no, & hung up.
They have been calling back I just don't answer, blocking maybe a good idea.

Called and said they were through BCBS Advantage wanted to send a DNA Swab Kit for Genetics Test for Cancer.  He said he was an Agent (Kevin) from Miami Florida with Protected Health USA.  They give information to Bronson Medical and a Dr. would call and as questions.  A. have you had cancer B. has a family member had cancer.  C. Birthdate.  Wondered also about a Medicare card and was wondering which one was considered Primary insurance.

Everyone can relax and not be alarmed. Those who've blocked this number should unblock it, because this is a GENUINE call on behalf of Blue Cross/Blue Shield. They or their partners periodically call to offer various free services and/or simply to see if their members are happy with their plan. I receive a call from them every couple of months, and they're always pleasant to talk with. On one such occasion I was told that I'd receive a $25 gift card if I simply answered a questionnaire that took maybe 10 minutes to complete. They were true to their word, and a short time later I received a $25 debit card in the mail. I don't know that they always pay for answering questionnaires, but you can always ask them beforehand, and then you can decide whether you wish to continue the conversation.
