Did anyone else get a phone call from 844 481 2891

Recd phone call from these people claiming to be a law firm and that I was being sued in a civil complaint suit for $588. When I called back concerned they addressed themselves over the phone as a company called Definitive Consulting. I have them the "case number" I was left with and they tried to say I owned $588 from a telecommunications company. (That's all they work for) such as AT&T, Sprint etc. When I confronted the man about who I supposedly owed this too, he was unable to give me the actual company who I owed this too. And was asking me why I never responded to legal papers they sent. I have never once ever gotten any such thing in the mail and told him that. I kept pushing information about this so called debt and after a lengthy hold, he gave me an address of which I lived in at one time..but was back in 1993. It is now 2016. He also pronounced address wrong and rattled off some telephone number that I supposedly had at that address and owed money for. Even though it was 23 hears ago, I knew that was NOT my number back then. I told him that this seemed more of a scam, and would not divulge any information of where I lived now. Being he was never able to tell me what company I was owing this too. He was also telling me they had a judgement on me for this amt and I needed to pay them the $588 today. I told the man that in no way would I do that. I never had that number, I know for a fact, I have no judgments on me nor do I have a civil suit against me. (Because I've have never had such a thing appear on my credit as to owning) trust me..I never would have been able to buy houses and cars with such. And last but not least... Statue of Limitations can't let anyone peruse something that long ago. It runs out. I told him this and also told him to cease and desist all calls or I will persue legal action for harassment. As far as I'm concerned, this is a scam, he rattled so fast on phone, I twice had to tell him to slow the heck down. I think they are attempting to scare you into believing you are being sued and out if that fear, as most people would have, try to obtain monies in hopes you don't take the proper actions to listen, investigate and understand. If anyone was really truly being sued, one, you would receive the papers, most likely certified and you would get served at your house, secondly, if you owe a creditor, they will always tell you who the company was pursuing the money and the account it was. Lastly..nobody is going to attempt to collect a debt of $588 from 23 years ago and sue you for it. Because of the amount and because as I said, Statue if Limitations. I've bought and applied for a ton of things in the past 23 years and had credit pulled and this never was on anything. Watch out.

yes, I just got a call from them too.  I was told I had a pending judgement against me.  When I told the man that I believed this to be a scam and that I had researched the number prior to calling them back, he hung up on me.

i was instructed by Compliance Services to call with my case number.

I just received a call from Steve Finley at this number as well.  I know it's a scam as I do not owe anyone money.

just got a call about civil suit against me but I keep getting disconnected while on hold

I just finished a call with these people. It sounds like Wilson, and I had the same conversation, except my $ amount was over $1K. I spoke with my attorney and he said pretty much the same thing...it's past the statue or limitations and do not give these people any additional information.

Have received many calls from this number past 3 weeks, saying its an urgent legal matter and to call right away and had some case number to refer too

Total scam. Do not return the calls.  Callers are located in Murrieta CA and use a lot of phony and not-so-phony aliases.

I called back and they "assured me it wasn't a scam. " They said there's a civil suit for an old embarq line I had over 10 years ago.

These people are scammers. Just received a call stating that I owed 629.00 to Century Link from 2006. Do not give them any information.

For me to call 844-481-2891. Call received from 207-217-9683 out of Main.  Thank God for smart phones that show the number and Google for checking on scam artists.  I may be old, but not stupid.

Today and last night.  Scam artists. Received a call from 207-217-9683 (Main) to call 844-481-2891.  If there was anything I owed I would have received notification via certified mail. Don't try to scare me.  I will retaliate and press civil charges against you for harassing me.

Same here, called from a Maine phone number telling me to call the 844 number but can't give me any further information on the debt owed or company with the complaint.  Sounds like BS to me

Got a call from 207-307-2138 (EPS), said I was being sued, did I know anything about it, someone filed a formal complaint against me.  Knew it was a scam, I told them fine, serve me.  Was told I'd be served in the next 4-5 days.  Called back to try to get info so I could file a complaint with the FTC, thought I could be sly, but they won't give me an address. Told them not to call me, they told me that the only way I could stop the calls was to contact 844-481-2891 (but they wouldn't give me the name of the company that this number belongs to).  I told them they need to stop calling me etc. - I wrote the conversation on another page.  Anyways, it's all a scam.  I just don't want anyone to get caught up in it.  Has anyone reported this to the FTC?
