They each left different case # and said I need to call back referencing the case number for the complaint filed against me. Seems like a scan since they don't mention any company names or what it is about.

- Nice Try| 2 repliesGot a call from these geniuses claiming I have complaints against me and I needed to call them immediately to answer the charges. I ignored it until I got messages (within minutes) from 3 family members saying this "Laura" called them and told them the same thing about me. When I called them back, (they answered "switchboard"???) and connected me with some guy wanting my case number off the Summons. I told him I have no summons. He told me that a sheriff was at my house Wednesday to serve me, and I should have it. No one served me with anything. He then said he had 2 addresses for me and to tell him which one was right. I declined to give that info. Then he said since I "failed to appear", he can't "help" me, and I must now go to the courthouse and answer the charges. He also said that my license has been suspended, bank accounts frozen and wages garnished (news to me!) He ended the call by telling me he will send a police officer to my house within 48 hours. Wonder how he's going to do that when he doesn't HAVE my address??
After verifying with the courthouse that I have no complaints or warrants or summons, I filed complaints with the FTC and the Attorney general.
These morons clearly are "fishing" for people that will fall for their [***]. They picked the wrong pond on this one. 😂- Caller: Amero Partners
- Nice Try replies to Nice TryThe number they use is 844 533 0233. But their website shows a different number, but it rings into the same place.
- CWG40 replies to MarieMost likely a scam. If they say they have a debt you owe then demand a debt validation letter to be sent by US mail. E-mail no good. I doubt if they will send you anything. Otherwise don't return the calls, block them.

- mary craig| 3 repliesI got a call from 1-844-533-0233, case #EA57421 saying that they will be coming to my house with court papers for a debt collection. I told them I have a lawyer and that I should not be receiving any calls from debt collectors. He could not give me any information at all. And I told him that I have not received any papers in the mail about a debt. The number he called me from was private so I could not call him back. I called the number and I told them I contacted the police and she said that she don't have anything else to say to me, then she hung up the phone! I will just wait to see if they call me back and see if this person serve me papers like they said they would.

When my husband asked for proof of the debt they said they didn't have that information. They had my husbands SS # and were looking at his credit report. Question is did anyome show up to "serve you"?
- Alfalfa replies to AmyThe Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:
•is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
•refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
•asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
•exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
•Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.
•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
•Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
•Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
•Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0258-fake-debt-collectors - ReeThey are scammers...they buy old junk debt and try to scare people. They called me and said they had a court order to serve me to appear and needed information.... the courts don't do this. They prey on scaring people to pay old debt, threatening with court, lawsuits, etc. The best thing to do is to say they have the wrong number and if they ask for you and it's you they are looking for, tell them they have the wrong number. Don't try to work it out or speak to them. I called their number back and ask them to take my number out of their system because they had the wrong number. Play dumb, be smart!
